I don't rate Jackson as a full time ruckman as highly as others, especially against the big bodied rucks. He also gets most of the ball on the follow up so he does it well for a couple of weeks then understandably fades. I think if Darcy gets injured, playing another AFL quality ruck/forward (horses for courses) would be a good idea. Especially if Darcy is out for any length of time. This all presumes Cox is playing well enough. Justin obviously didn't think Reidy was good enough. There wasn't the need to play him since we always had 1 of the 2 monsters available in 2025, the round 1 experiment didn't work against Geelong's weak ruck division. This is going to be the case with any back-up ruck as there are not many teams with 2 AFL standard rucks who can solo ruck if required. Therefore I really don't think it's a big deal who we get if we find ourselves knee deep in injuries coming into a final, probably better with an experienced player rather than a WAFL journeyman.
Yeah and they doubled down on it today, im just like, Dee's ****ing move on fellas, there's other statesThe funniest thing about reading Twomey's phantom draft is our farm team Melbourne picking another WA player to give us in 3 years time.
More guaranteed gold from a certain Melbourne poster coming right up.Yeah and they doubled down on it today, im just like, Dee's ****ing move on fellas, there's other states
If he was still AFL quality then the Pies would have kept him as back-up. They have a few 200cm rucks/KPP on their list who have never played a game plus Darcy Cameron.I don't rate Jackson as a full time ruckman as highly as others, especially against the big bodied rucks. 24 hrs from nowI’m bored, when’s the draft?
Not a fan. However.
1. Only has to be marginally more competent than Reidy.
2. Is experienced stop-gap until riddle is ready.
3. Brings experience door the young group at peel.
4. Brings marketing opportunities.
5. Is cheap.
I don’t like it, but I can understand it.
Trying to convince myself that a washed 35yo ok-ish in his prime tall guy is what we need. You listed all positives and zero negatives but you don't like it

"No sir they were saying boo-SA"By pronouncing it "oo-sa"?
Cox 2 years confirmed
Just seems silly when list spots are tight, oh well
Good effort from Mason Cox to get a bag out of us. Shoutout to JLo and the FD for flogging a lifeline to another mate in true FFC fashion.
Mason Cox officially just happy to be here.
He probably wouldn't move across the country for 1 year, most people wouldn't.Have to say, feels like a contract for mates with JLO. Mason Cox should be a 1 year minimum contract rookie contract.
A lot of people don’t understand logisticsHe probably wouldn't move across the country for 1 year, most people wouldn't.
The Bell Ringing was bloody brilliant.Hopefully he's not required to play over the next 2 years since one of Jackson & Darcy is always fit. If the unthinkable happens and he plays, I'm afraid there will be some nuffies doing that if he marks the ball. We had a guy bring a bell to the ground for the whole of Peter Bell's career ffs.
35yo tall guy that hadn’t played any crash bang footy until he got here, hasn’t had any significant injuries, has been shown to be capable of playing at the level, hasn’t travelled interstate since he got here, comes from one of the most successful clubs in the country, is better than Reidy, will be cheap and is coming here with the clear understanding that he’ll be 3rd banana. I dunno seems like he’s worth a SSP spot to meTrying to convince myself that a washed 35yo ok-ish in his prime tall guy is what we need.![]()

They let him go exactly because they have a few on their list and can pay them less.If he was still AFL quality then the Pies would have kept him as back-up. They have a few 200cm rucks/KPP on their list who have never played a game plus Darcy Cameron.
I think he's declining and we're not picking him up as anything but Reidy 2.0.
And he loves talking shit too!35yo tall guy that hadn’t played any crash bang footy until he got here, hasn’t had any significant injuries, has been shown to be capable of playing at the level, hasn’t travelled interstate since he got here, comes from one of the most successful clubs in the country, is better than Reidy, will be cheap and is coming here with the clear understanding that he’ll be 3rd banana.
