Geez i hope the Eagles bid on Zeke with pick 1. Just to throw a spanner in the works
We lost 2 talls in 2025 so not exactly the end of the world if we get two more. I'd rather not spend our best pick on one though.Imagine we take Schubert even after adding Cox lol
We could play a team full of ruck/kpd/kpf

we need an inside mid that height. we'd be the shortest midfield out there195cm or gtfo, you're hearing it more and more.
The age is different, but McDonald is on the list with little expectation to play unless an apocalypse plays havoc with the best 23.Two years?! What’s is with Fremantle gifting 2-4 year contract to 30 year olds.
What’s next? JOM adding 2 years beyond 2025?
If Onley there was one in this draft.we need an inside mid that height. we'd be the shortest midfield out there
If we got Cox 2 years ago he would have moved here expecting to play.I think the main issue is we are getting Cox now
If we got him 2 years ago then you'd be thinking "jeez we timed that right, decent 2 years and looks a bit cooked now"
Instead it's "ooft he looked a bit cooked towards the end of the year, 2 years seems a lot"
you are playing with fire mateAnyone done the forensics on what getting fair value on our pick swap could've netted us? At least another future second rounder or a go at the top 12?

Ordinarily, the pick in the 30s we gave up should have been kept IMO. That would have made it a normal trade.Anyone done the forensics on what getting fair value on our pick swap could've netted us? At least another future second rounder or a go at the top 12?

By 2 years ago it was more meaning now but at that ageIf we got Cox 2 years ago he would have moved here expecting to play.
That would be a far worse recruiting decision.
Sean Darcy has never played a full AFL season. Never.By 2 years ago it was more meaning now but at that age
He obviously wouldn't be playing ahead of Darcy and Jackson
Sean's fitness is a key focus point for me for 2026. He should have a full pre-season with his lighter frame - will he have a Gawn like late 20s? That would be miraculous and go a long way to us challenging for the flag next year.Sean Darcy has never played a full AFL season. Never.
He now manages his knee(s) with an ice bath set up at his house, and load management will very much be a feature of his career moving forward.
Last year he only missed 6 games, which was a comparatively good result to the two years prior, where he missed a total of 19 (11+8) AFL games.
Given Jackson wants to be mostly on ball this year, I reckon ready made experience AFL ruck cover for two years for the 5-10 games Sean will likely miss each year is pretty handy.
I dare say, assuming we are still in the premiership window after that, we can look at another vet ruck to cover once Mason hangs them up.
Which is why it’s important to have decent depth, we rushed him back this year when Jackson got injured and it could be argued that delayed his return to full fitness, having Cox will allow us to manage Sean much better.Sean's fitness is a key focus point for me for 2026. I see Sean as arguably our most important and impactful player.
Speaking of Fyfe and Brodie reckon we should try find a bigger inside mid with that last list spot.So we have one rookoe spot available for a train on and perhaps one long term injury SSP for Sturt to finalise our squad. We look a way better balanced squad without Fyfe and Brodie as we previously had too many inside mids.
Our delistings/trades were
Fyfe, Brodie, Aish, Reidy, Walters, Jones, Delean, Narkle
Our players in
Sweld, McVee, Whan, Cox, Murray, Kicket, Luke. SSP to come.
That's a lot of pace and skill into the squad. All but Coc is considered a very good kick too.
