It's a tongue in cheek remnant that's probably due a change. We're flying and the list looks great

But I just know the day after we change it Murphy's contract extension will be announced

Yeah this is where we should be investing re: clearance mids. Scores off of turnovers are more important right now, anyway

Small forward should be the priority this year. Either young or ready-made. Probably a Tex replacement too, if he retires (though he’s looked better the last couple of weeks)

Malcolm Rosas would be worth a look, Ah Chee too, though he's not a small forward as such.

A key forward would be nice, but hopefully Toby Murray can get back for the back end of the SANFL season and get a big pre season in.

Tex will play minimum 10 games next year then retire - he might even do a Kane +1

Ah Chee would be an awesome get, a nice compliment to what we have too

Even if the ‘key forward’ is just finding a mobile third tall, we don’t really have any of those on our list. If Mitch Marsh were to somehow fall to our first pick for instance, I’d be happy with him

Going to be is not now. Though, I doubt Draper will be that 6-7 clearance per game player with the hope is that Soligo becomes that.

We tried in the reverse fixture against Gold Coast, and it did not work (though we've seemingly put ourselves into a really poor position here as we refuse to consider Draper elsewhere).

If Tex plays on, he will play most games. We need to debunk this philosopy that he will play 2 in 3 or 3 in 4 and keep himself fresh, there is no evidence whatsoever to support it.

With some important decision coming up, we can't be tempting fate. Just have a look at that list and tell me that you're confident Murphy isn't going to still be around in 2026. Even Burgess could get another year if we can't replace him with another KPF/pinch hit ruck. Strachan is already gone, replaced by McAndrew. Smith you'd think is done too and Schoey probably as well. Gallagher a cat B (?), so wouldn't count. Even if we use all 3 thirds, we only need to add 1 player to Strachan, Smith and Schoey and that's our full suite of usable draft picks gone. So we're likely to see only 1 of Burgess, Bond, Murphy, Crouch and Tex totally off the list. 2 would move to the rookie list and the other 3 retained on the main list. I'm assuming Taylor gets a year or 2 and ROB either stays or is replaced like for like.
