Getting TDK trading marshall is essentially buying another first round pick
Especially when we have Dodson!
Greeves, mini pou and fincher is a very good draft haul
Yeh that sort of makes sense.

Although good rucks don’t sit behind other rucks, honestly average rucks don’t sit behind other rucks.

If Dodson is good we’ll probably lose him somewhere else. I reckon we need to keep Heath if TDK comes cause he looks like he might be happy to stay as a backup, Dodson probably won’t (if he keeps progressing obviously)

One of those “on the one hand” / “on the other hand” types of games.

I was there and enjoyed the overall game a lot, some player and umpiring errors notwithstanding. I thought we were really on from the first bounce.

On the one hand…I would have loved a win as I think we put in a really good showing and were in it to the death.

On the other hand…we showed plenty, the young kids looking really good and my love for Maxy Hall just keeps on growing, but it does hopefully help our chances of not climbing too much with very winnable games ahead.

D- to the cheer squad (hopefully not offending anyone on here) who were pretty full today but never do a lot of what they’re supposed to do - cheer and make a lot of noise. Soundly beaten by the Swans cheer squad today.

Oh, and NAS, just SIGN already!!

Thought it was about Roma and Heath getting spanked in the ruck (which didn’t matter much given their midfield which is a mile better than ours was even in clearances) but now it’s not about TDK being any better.

You wanna spend $1.7 a year for the same production feel free, glad your not a list manager.

I’m not anti TDK, in reality he’s a beacon for other FAs imo and we’re way too deep now to bail, I just think no ruckman is worth more than a million a year and TDK isn’t even the best ruck in the league.

Anyway, we’ve had our two agreements this year and sparring with you is tiresome so carry on with whatever goalposts you wanna move on this discussion alone.
You said Gawn and Xerri had no impact today. When in our very own game Grundy was effectively the match winner and dominant big guy.

I consider Roma a top 5 ruck - however his form isn’t showing that. TDK is the equivalent.

In the last month we have been towelled by: Darcy Cameron. Darcy/Jackson. Grundy. Meek.

Don’t say crap like rucks have no impact. We have seen first hand they do both against and for us over the years.

If I’ve shifted my position it’s in retaining Marshall.

We get it you don't like ross
I already like Ross the person. He is a great speaker, funny dude, very likeable.

I will like Ross the coach when he remembers how to win football games, something he has found immensely difficult his last 7 seasons of coaching.

Personally, I do think he has been figured out a touch and we are running with an outdated game plan. I find him stubborn and unwilling to try different rotations resulting in us regularly losing the same way. We play conservative football favouring bombing down the line to undersized forwards.

That is not just Lyon though. Where is Bolton? Our forward structures have been very poor all year.

Ultimatley, I am finding it hard to envisage us having any kind of edge in the coaching box.

I mean Richmond and North are winning more than us over a 3 month period. How can we say we have talent on the list but also claim we are well coached when we can't win a game of football?

I am very surprised just how comfortable people are with 2-11. 2 wins in 3 months ffs🤪

Who would you suggest would be a better fit for our club though? Corey Enright? who is already there with the same record as Ross? Stick fat only so much a coach can do with the cattle we have on the farm.

We dont have the cattle
But are on the right track.
When we nail this draft we have effectively drafted and developed as good as anyone in the comp over the last 4 years.

I said tap rucks have **** all impact.

Our two kicked two goals today.

Tap work counts for absolutely **** all. Grundy had 20 touches, Heath had 16.

Grundys impact is in his bustle around the footy WAY more than his tap work and generally Roma does that too, Heath was very good in that space too.

I agree on retaining Roma (although if we get TDK that changes) Cameron and Meek are exactly what we should be seeking and for about 700k less than TDK.

Even if Grundy was best on today (and he was good) his actual impact on the game was negated by Roma and Heath cause rucks impact is only relevant if their opponent does nothing.

No way Heath should miss. Was trying to mark the ball... pulled out if anything.
They haven’t suspended that action all year… so he’ll get 4 weeks.

This is generally the counter to anyone who questions Ross (who’s better?).

Generally any Ross criticism (or not even criticism) is just about the current results, there’s a stack of mitigating circumstances right now but honestly any talk of extending him for finishing bottom 4-6 is absolutely bonkers.

Agree, hard to know if Enright does any better.

I am not necessarily advocating for a sacking, I just think it needs to be acknowledged how poor the coaching group has been this year, and things need to change moving forward.

No more extra day off, extra kicking sessions, flag that ball movement has been terrible all year. We are not running out games well.

I would like to see bolder rotations. Plenty for the coaches to work on.

Moyle is behind Witts.
Xerri sat behind Goldstein.
Marshall was at least paired with Ryder, if not behind.

TDK showed glimpses against NicNat as a kid, then sat behind Pittonet.

If Dodson ends up a gun in 4 year's time then we have a call to make: Hang onto TDK and cash Dodson in, or offload TDK ala Grundy, and let the kid carry us to a flag.

Yep. It was very noticeable.
You got to the game? Or on TV?
Tbh I think we’re the worst going around.
They need to be lifting the team when it’s tight, not just cheering the goals.

I was above our cheersquad and the swans one was louder.

His last 7 years has involved 2 rebuilds at 2 clubs. He's pumped games into kids at both clubs. I'm not comfortable but also understanding. Our FIXture has skewed some of those numbers too I reckon in terms of who we have/haven't played.

Disappointing result today but don't think there was any magic coaching box trick with the team we have out there. Would have loved a 100% fit Pou and King out there to see what difference they may have made structurally.

Whatever happened to

We want another 1 just like the other 1
Goal goal goal wooooooooo 😝

Cheer squad seriously lacking.
Seriously….with the Moo and Tauroo as obvious calls, I mean why not?
The kid scored his first AFL goal. The team were great celebrating it. The cheer squad not so much.

Unfortunately ( and don’t @me for shooting Bambi) Mason Wood has not been earning his chant lately.

I know, I know, this is really important stuff 🤣 but we are just SO quiet as supporters.

Honestly watching Moose and reading about Dodson (also watching Gawn and Xerri do absolutely **** all to influence their games) I’m more and more convinced TDK is a complete waste.
So what are you spending excess cap on to give us a leg up as we’ve been stockpiling it for a reason
