One of my favourite passages was when Charlie kicked into the man on the mark, then worked his ass off to get a stoppage. Was very happy to see that.

İt's a bit of an indictment because that should be the standard, but it's well past what he's done in the recent past.

We kicked straight. It’s the most underrated stat in the business. When we won loads of games from 2023 to 2024 we kicked more goals than pints in almost all of those wins. I the games we didn’t we either lost or laboured to a difficult win. For all the shit the talking heads drivel on about to steal a living out of the game it’s really pretty simple. Take your opportunities. Execute your skills. I’ve often said there is very little difference in how all the teams play in terms of game style. The teams that win more often than they don’t tend to execute best.

I'd say that not throwing them in before they're ready helps too, something we did in the past, which was detrimental to proper development.

That's why I suggest that we don't need to see Lemmey play seniors this season. Play him next year after he has another pre-season.

Absolutely- I look forward to the day when our first picks aren’t automatic starts for round 1

Let’s see how the season goes for Lemmey, reckon he has done enough to debut this year but if it’s not until next year then so be it

No matter how bad Carlton are going we always beat Melbourne.

It doesn't really impact our season all that much at this stage, but it's good to get the win and the encouraging thing is that a lot of the younger players got us over the line here.

It's all about trying to put some building blocks in place for next year now. Let's finish out this season on a high. We don't want to gift the Hawks an overly generous draft pick after all!

Some of our young players really coming along. Just keep getting games into them.

Kozzie was literally catching fire he was that good and they still lost

Petrarca, Viney and Oliver is almost as 1 dimensional as Cripps Hewitt and Cerra

Carroll was always going to rebound. In fact, he already rebounded in the match last week. When he makes an error he continues to take on. For years we’ve cried out on here for players who don’t go into their shells. He never does.

Let’s keep working on Moir’s tank and see what happens. It is great to see a player who is a confident kick for goal.

I know Jagga has missed twelve months. But with where our list is at, thank heavens we didn’t go for Petracca.

If you take the interviews at face value, there's an internal focus on the younger players, given both Cripps and Charlie were all about the young blokes.

Good - as I've said a few times this last few weeks, if we're gonna play the kids the senior heads need to be feeding them the ball any chance they get. The way we played around Billy a few weeks back was diabolical.

12 goals from 50 inside 50 is our best conversion for the year (0.24). Accuracy plays a big part in this.

Nice to get the chocolates, however dees were bog ordinary. Senior players who have been under-performing over recent

weeks, stood up. Thought Charlie was great, credit to him. But why does he not show this endeavor every week?

Doc was good, maybe he has one more year in him after all. Zaccy Williams showing his class in the midfield makes such a

difference. Lots of positives with our younger brigade. Carroll was probably best on, terrific game. Cowan was exceptional

as well, love his attack on the footy. Break out game for Moir, now he is finally at AFL fitness levels the sky is the limit for

him. Liked the game from Young as well, big pre-season and he will be much better again.

TDK is an interesting one, played with real passion and vigor. Obviously loves our club and playing with the boys.

Maybe he might even want to stay.

Worst game I have been to all season. Both sides were shocking. It wasn’t even VFL level standard

To watch live last night how they played as opposed to Lions & Pies of last two weeks was stark. Completely different level

I said in preview we should win because we match up well and the trends for both are poor. I got heavily criticised for these comments

After game if felt like a morgue. No thrill at all in crowd about win

Nice to see kids play some good footy (we have some real exciting talent to work with) but doing it under little pressure doesn’t excite me. They were given so much space they weren’t last few weeks. We always look okay under no pressure

It’s when pressure comes (start of third qtr) is when we really struggle

Take the win but reality of last few weeks can’t be forgotten. Hawks, Freo, Suns now will tell us real picture

We still need massive change to be a serious side

Re Demons, Goodwin needs to go. He has a flag but players are cooked and need refresh. They are in a worse spot than us IMO

Good to see the kids stand up. They drove this win. A few senior players also finally lifted.

Carroll, Moir, Cowan, Ollie, HOF and Lord can take us forward. Add Jagga back in next year, plus Dean and the TDK compo pick. Walker the following year.

Wasn’t a pretty spectacle but we’ll take any win at this stage.

Got to keep prioritising youth at selection.
