Charlie kicking early goals and getting the crowd involved really sparks the entire team belief & energy.The vibe was different from the get go.
We ran a bit harder and players are taking good contested marks.
keep this up!
Collingwood are brilliant at itDrives me mad when we just don’t bother to do this - always trying to take possession whatever the situation
Something flicked a switch in him last night.
His post game interview showed he’s clearly been feeling the pressure.
Charlie really is the definition of a confidence player. When he is up and going, he is nigh on unstoppable. When he is lackingWaking up after a win, the day already feels so much better......Dammmm I didnt know how much I missed this feeling!!!!
White = possible finish positions
% = possible subject to percentage
Black = mathematically impossible
I beg to differ with regard to game style.We kicked straight. It’s the most underrated stat in the business. When we won loads of games from 2023 to 2024 we kicked more goals thanpintspoints in almost all of those wins. I the games we didn’t we either lost or laboured to a difficult win. For all the shit the talking heads drivel on about to steal a living out of the game it’s really pretty simple. Take your opportunities. Execute your skills. I’ve often said there is very little difference in how all the teams play in terms of game style. The teams that win more often than they don’t tend to execute best.
Agree Soap.Worst game I have been to all season. Both sides were shocking. It wasn’t even VFL level standard
To watch live last night how they played as opposed to Lions & Pies of last two weeks was stark. Completely different level
I said in preview we should win because we match up well and the trends for both are poor. I got heavily criticised for these comments
After game if felt like a morgue. No thrill at all in crowd about win
Nice to see kids play some good footy (we have some real exciting talent to work with) but doing it under little pressure doesn’t excite me. They were given so much space they weren’t last few weeks. We always look okay under no pressure
It’s when pressure comes (start of third qtr) is when we really struggle
Take the win but reality of last few weeks can’t be forgotten. Hawks, Freo, Suns now will tell us real picture
We still need massive change to be a serious side
Re Demons, Goodwin needs to go. He has a flag but players are cooked and need refresh. They are in a worse spot than us IMO
TBF I have watched Charlie closely last few weeks and he has been working hard. Can’t question effortCharlie really is the definition of a confidence player. When he is up and going, he is nigh on unstoppable. When he is lacking
in confidence, he is shizen.
The kids has courage. Even when he had all those turn overs, he keeps getting to good places and wanting the ball. Love his mental toughness.I mentioned it in the game day thread, but for Carroll to have that sort of game coming off of his error ridden game last week speaks volumes about this kid.
He is special.
Young, Williams and Evans weren’t played as small forwards, and Durdin was sub- we played 7 small forwards (Young, White, Durdin, Motlop, Fogarty, Williams, Evans) and they combined for two goals in a win.

Still disappointed in the season. Still reckon Vossy has run his course, and he will be gone at years end. But I will still be celebrating this win as much as anyone. Winning any footy match is hard. Great to see our kids look fantastic, and the leaders stood up when needed. Great Saturday night
Moir, Carroll, Young and Cowan..
