North's Enforcer
It's AFL Fantasy Finals time ladies and gents. Round 21 is upon us and for those coaches in the traditional 4 week finals leagues, that means the first week of finals. Or the first week of regretting not making finals... Hopefully not too many of us are in the latter category...
Last week saw big scores for most coaches. Strangely forgoing the league's new favourite slot of Thursday night (was there a football game on, I didn't see any football on Thursday...), the round kicked off on Friday with the Bont going ballistic for 146 and bigSean Sam Darcy kicking 6 snags for a delightful 116 from D6, a happy sight in this year's miserable forward stocks. Super Saturday was dominated by Matty Rowell who chalked up a little 145 to continue his incredible form run and Jezza Cameron's incredible 157 from 11 snags. But the real hero of the round was left to Nasiah the Messiah who finished the round with a 4 goal, 34 possie 147 to catapult many happy coaches over the 2400/2500 thresholds and the Saints list manager John Malkovich had this to say after the game...
If you held the great man Doch for his swansong game, I am truly sorry and it is time to send him off to the farm this week. Thankfully you can still get him to Lachie Whitfield for a bargain price at 936k (90k from Doch). Other popular trade in targets include the aforementioned Cameron, and of course NWM for anyone that was watching that last Sunday crying because they didn't have him already. Kennedy is also a steal if you ditched him or never had him at 896k after his 30 point disappearing act two weeks ago which has thankfully been followed up with B2B tons. As well as Nando Anderson (Rich matchup), Isaac Heeney (Bomber matchup) and Max Holmes (cats finish the year with 4 teams whose season is already over).
At the departures lounge, I'm seeing a lot of small potatos in helmets (Caleb Daniel) who despite the ball spending 80% of the match in North's backline could only scrounge up a 60. Along with Doch (retired), Miles Bergman's season is over (shoulder) and optimistic coaches continue to HODL hoping captain Rozee doesn't get the same treatment at half time this week when Cameron kicks his 8th. If you're lucky enough to avoid all of those you can also spot Merrett (tag threat and shit team), Zorko (foot), Bailey Dale (1 point last quarter), Steele (shoulder and 10 point 1st half), Tom Stewart (knee) and Lloyd Meek (too meek) at other gates.
Welcome to round 21 AFL Fantasy Discussion and as always...
