I may be one that would support bringing him in, but by far the most likely outcome is that he’s out of the system in 2026 with a 1 year deal the absolute best case scenario. The issues aren’t the same I expect though that this goes the same way as Thomas where clubs want to see his resilience outside the system before throwing him a lifeline.
The silence is deafening on this one. Young full forward who would be on a million a year and a high trade cost if he was moving with his shit together - but in the current situation, he'd be free to anyone who wants him - yet not a single rumour from the media, talk of a meeting or interest etc ...

Reckon his payout has already been negotiated and we will never see him again

I know things are different these days, but it stuns me that a bloke who hasn't performed any of his contractual obligations for an entire season might also be looking at receiving a payout for 2026.

Funny I never had to line up......

I had the right of passage, go straight in do not pass GO
I was good mates with my principal. He even used to ask me if I wanted my straps on my palms or on my knuckles, top bloke

I get the impression that him getting even a one year deal anywhere is really optimistic.

He may get a go at VFL level, and if he keeps his head in the game, no distractions and kicks 60 to 70 goals, l'm sure AFL clubs may take a punt with him in 2027....

Most of them live around Torqey, Barwon Heads and Ocean Grove.
Could think of worse places to live.
Why what's so great about living in a big city? The drugs? Crime? Overcrowded? Exorbitant housing expense? Some people in cities really struggle to understand that many people prefer rural and regional lifestyles. You don't need five hundred of the same coffee shops and wanky bars to have an enjoyable and fulfilling life.

I'd take a punt on him for 12 months as a rookie but I like to give people a second chance

Surely Delisted Laverde would be a better option than May. Laverde is 29.
Laverde is a spud. May is quality.

Age doesn't matter as long as we can get two years out of him. It's served us well in the past with players like Dunn, Roughead coming in for 2 years and playing a big role for cheap.

Last year we should've gone for Nick Hayne as a 2 year younger Howe. We have the chance to do it this year with May who's a better player than Hayne

The club won’t, but I would. We are the most experienced and system oriented club in the league which I’d prefer we leverage for a guy like JUH over May. Depending on what the AFL decides on his contract I’d take him on as a salary dump 1 year deal. Put up or shut up type scenario.
Interesting situation and the consequences of how it all plays out. The AFL may offer WB some special dispensation regarding JUH's contract. But as per Beams it will be buyer beware and the new club won't get anything but holding the full contract if MH and attitude concerns arise. JUH's management will not take a one yr. deal from any club. So the risk increases for clubs vs reward. I thought he was way overrated before this blew up. Being at the Pies won't help his MH nor Geelong (town and some players) because of its drug culture. I feel BL would be but they do not need him

mine was love hate, loved how he put his shoulder into the whack and the hate was after one of my visits after a fight
we had cricket practice, fielding in my usual position of slips ball was snicked hands still ringing from six of the best, dropped the catch dropped from the next game

The teacher.....yep the Principle

I’m well past being stunned by these things any more

Reports are saying Cox has been offered a 1 year deal on a reduced wage as a back-up ruck option who is likely to play VFL for a large part of the season. His presence will assist in the development of Steene and Smit as ruckmen.
I have been a Cox fan. I wondered whether his last two year should have been one. He adds to structure but has reduced presence. He fumbles and drops opportunities. The length of his kicks has dropped off his over 50m best. I understand the offer and assisting development but I would prefer our list development to be more advanced. This is an option but on its own, without the overall list changes, seems a bit yesterday.
