If JDG does get traded, the biggest downside would be the credit we'd have to give Ralphy's "fever pitch."

The fixture, salary cap investigations and integrity might be bigger. But good call, it’s difficult.Trade week, start on the Monday and finish on the Friday. Biggest load of overblown crap the AFL conjures up.
In some parallel universe that’s probably true.De Goey will get traded tonight

There's every chance there's already a club lined up and he has already done a medical prior to leaving? There is no way this happens without a medical.
How can Jordy get traded tonight? It’s too sudden I just can’t see it happening. I think it’s just the media wanting to keep Pies fans interested until the deadline.
Plus what are we using the pick for? Simpkin? Nah.
That’s your biggest downside? I didn’t realise you were in the camp of being open to move him.If JDG does get traded, the biggest downside would be the credit we'd have to give Ralphy's "fever pitch."
Cmon, more details!De Goey will get traded tonight

I would certainly have an issue of swapping DeGoey & 2 future 2nd round picks for pick 9.I would assume your issue is with the JDG component? In which case I think it’s about fair because the two 2nd’s are nothing picks.
Where it lost me is Humphrey for pick 9. I don’t even think Richmond offering picks 3 and 4 would turn GC’s head let alone 9 which gets chewed up by a bid. The whole point of academy/ FS bid matching is to do it with the most worthless assets you can so moving Humphrey for an academy bid matching would probably be career over for Cameron (if it isn’t already after the impetuous comment).
If that was true, then bravo to everyone keeping that under wraps, especially for a player of his stature. There's every chance there's already a club lined up and he has already done a medical prior to leaving?
It would be in everyone's best interest for this one to lay dormant until this last day to avoid unnecessary media scrutiny like what a Merrett is going through.
A+ for creative writingDe Goey feels as if others (like perryman and Houston) got more money than him having done far less, and all players took slight unders doing deals with GW (N Daicos included) and are now not buying it under Leppa.
He knows he’s unlikely to get a great deal to extend beyond 2027 at Collingwood so sees this as a chance to get out and extend, if it doesn’t happen tonight it’ll come around again in 12 months time.
Not serious. That’s your biggest downside? I didn’t realise you were in the camp of being open to move him.
Why don't you cut the crap and name who he gets traded to.De Goey feels as if others (like perryman and Houston) got more money than him having done far less, and all players took slight unders doing deals with GW (N Daicos included) and are now not buying it under Leppa.

Probably fair enough to have that opinion this time last year when we obtained Pez and Houston, but it'd be a strange take to hold onto that feeling for 12 months considering their outputs this year were significantly more than JDG's.De Goey feels as if others (like perryman and Houston) got more money than him having done far less, and all players took slight unders doing deals with GW (N Daicos included) and are now not buying it under Leppa.

I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said here. I hope Thomas has reformed / does reform himself. But I am not personally comfortable with my club working with himNo doubt that as well as being proud of the improvement and redemption stories, footy clubs should also be ashamed of the enabling they've done. But giving someone a job and an opportunity is a very different action to dodgy shit to help someone avoid legal consequences.
If Carlton or any other club thinks that they can work with Thomas, good luck to them - I hope it's a success. It's a damn site more likely to make the world a better place than online judges and juries demanding ongoing punishments and ostracism due to headlines from cases they haven't heard.
I would side with De goey on that one, I’d take JDG 10 times out of 10 over Houston. Both the type of player and the output over a career, especially in finals.Perryman maybe but in what world has Houston done less than Jordy career wise? Can I get my hands on a Jordy AA final team jumper, or two?
I think we’re delusional for discussing it frankly because no club is going to offer what it will take to convince both Collingwood and JDG to part ways. Seriously what club is taking the punt to offer both a decent 1st and extend his contract? To MM’s theory if he’s so disgruntled he should focus on getting his body right and performing instead of worrying about a contract in 2 years time… From my perspective he’s been exceedingly well paid given his output the past 24 months! Not serious.
Yoiu'd move him for a big offer, but I want us to keep him. Whilst it'd run against his fitness history, a fit and firing Jordy would mean that the midfield issues would go away and we'd be a good chance of continuing to contend. JDG offers hope and for someone with little understanding of biomechanics and injury history - it feels a realistic hope - although it probably isn't.
