We'll struggle to attract a big bodied or defensive mid with how many players that we have in there. We can't guarantee time.

I think the answers are Curtis (big bodied) and FOS (defensive).

But we need another defender with FOS's combination of courage and skill. And we need another small forward who is a goal kicking threat (Dovaston? George?) so that our forward line can operate when Curtis rotates into the middle.

I don't want Curtis, Zurhaar or any other forward going into the middle, they need to focus on being elite forwards.

I think FOS will migrate into the midfield group but he is 70kg, I think he can play wing being underweight but it is potentially a liability. I think the club should just ban anyone who isn't remotely close to 85kg+ from playing a core midfield role. So unless Wardlaw, Powell and all the other stick figures we run through the middle get on the Hird supplement program you are playing in the VFL or on the bench.

That leaves us with just LDU and Parker.

I'd prefer Sheezel play on a wing, he can probably do 95% of what he is currently doing from a wing position, he would be a bit more limited at centre bounce stoppages but would be more potential to get the ball to him in space instead of when he is stuck in congestion.

We currently have Stephens who isn't a great user of the ball and Scott/whomever on the other wing so we don't have any elite ball users on the the wings. Sheezle and FOS would be a stark improvement imo.

This would free up a Windhager or some other big bodied midfielder for the core midfield role with Wardlaw, Powell and ther other stick figures bench options.

Parker is obviously a short-term stop-gap measure, Wardlaw should be expected to hit around 85kgs in the time Parker has remaining. It isn't about what is best for us, Wardlaw is going to keep getting hurt if we put him on players that have 15-20kg on him. He is 79kg, get to 82 this pre-season and work towards being 85 for the start of 2027. He will be fine at 85kg even if some players are 90+kg because he is an animal.

Tas, as a long-time respected poster, for the life of me I don’t know where to begin with this post…

Sheezel can’t play in the middle - ROFL

Sheezel should play wing. Well he could, but he would play to discipline and would be 30-40% less in the game.

FOS will be solid and I am assuming already well above 70kgs (hyperbole accounted for).

Stephens is actually a great user of the ball. Given enough space to kick, he would easily be in our best 10 disposers.

Wardlaw a twig? What kind of lenses you wearing?

Someone just watched what Dunkley and Rayner did to one of the Suns, yeah finals are a beast and you need big bodies.

For those playing at home, we have been linked to:

Spargo - Confirmed to North

Windhager - 5 year offer, set to stay at the saints.

Budarick - Rumoured link, a few clubs interested.

Flanders - Previously linked, likely staying at GC or going to the saints.

Butts - Linked and have put in a lot of work into him. Should hopefully hear soon.

Tyler Young - Linked and offer, but likely to stay at the tigers.

Lever - Linked and met with club, likely to stay.

Aleer - Previously linked, requested to go to Saints.

Milera - Previously linked, no real chance of leaving.

Gruez - Have asked the question, like most clubs.

Tsatas - Linked.

Mihochek - Edmund basically lied about a north offer.

Davies - Informally linked.

So in other words a whole bunch of nothing

So in other words a whole bunch of nothing
Which is better than filling the list with spargos

Hit the draft with our 3 picks inside 40
Re-sign Harv, Finnbar, banch, Wilphil

Delist Payne and Tucker

Try find a new home for Bailey Scott

The gnomes come alive after dark

We knew we needed a small fwd, so we went and got Banch, Spargo, Konstanty, Harvey, Payne & Hansen Jnr.

We knew we needed a KPD to assist Pink, Logue, Corr & Comben, so we went and got W Dawson and Whitlock ( who now will be forward). Now we're after Young, Butts.

It is how we roll, I think we've had so many draft picks we don't know whether we're coming or going.

Yeah trying to fill the same positions (kpd, small forward ,kpf) over the last few drafts doesn’t help.

A destination club for b-graders who love massive pay rises.
If I had a warchest and a choice of using it on Flanders, Aleer, and Silvagni, (assuming others aren't disgruntled by the pay amounts) as opposed to a choice of using it on no one, I'd take those three. Silvagni's shit club jibe means nothing because he's just moved to the shittest club of the lot, historically speaking

If we spent 3.5m+ on those three and TDK, literally the only positional upgrade in our best 23 would be Silvagni instead of Pink.

Daniel is a better kick, and believe it or not, is more defensively accountable
That first claim is very much up in the air and I shouldn't have to look very hard to find examples of Daniel shooting us in the foot with his 'superior' kicking this year.

Second one could well be true, in fact, I don't doubt it, but does it mean much when he's rendered useless in the air and cannot tackle

Daniel averaged 1.9 tackles a game this season mate.

That's more than Bailey Dale(1.1) or Nick Blakey (1.4).
