Can we make West the Rene Kink story of the 2000's? (for those old enough to know)
Would much rather he followed Dermie’s story, but in a Collingwood jumper his whole career!

Training - Wed Sept 10

Bye week, main session #1

A team was pretty much who played, bar no checkers and Beau

Bobby trained fully

It was mostly working through ball movement, generally through from D50 up the ground and through the F50 to a leading target.
Mcstay led really well coming out of the FF.

Pendles, Nick, Howe, Maynard all did some rehab or management running off to the side. Nick did join in on the drills as they got into the ball movement drills. The others didn't I don't think.

The session happened fairly quick and blink it was over.

It was a fairly solid session otherwise. In some of the drills they did when it was moving the ball, it was swift, with lots of run. Hopefully something we keep seeing more of.

Given there was no real match sim, I reckon that's what we are gonna be seeing on Friday. I thin it'll be some sort of intraclub game.

Would rather we bring in McStay than play an out of form and playing hurt Mihocek

If he doesn’t perform in the Prelim, then you have the option to bring Checkers in for the Grand Final if we get through
Cant agree. Checkers had a shocking goal kicking night but had 5 shots which could easily have been 4.1, 3,2 or even 2.3 and been a great night. He'll bounce back

Prefer not - how many losing GFs did Kinky play in?

And he’s been dropped because of terrible form.

I still can’t understand how people say checkers had a poor game. He had 5 shots on goal and kept Keane in the goal square which freed up everyone else. He did exactly what his brief would have been.
Except kick straight, he should've nailed at least two of those shots at goal

Is there going to be another VFL scratch match against the Cats this weekend too?
Not this weekend. They’ll have the equivalent match sim at tomorrow’s training run. That scratch match last weekend was akin to a February 60 min match sim.

I think you're right. If Checkers is passed fit, his selection is in no doubt at all. Membrey's spot is not guaranteed, even if fully fit.

Perhaps for the remainder of this fortnight, a Membrey v McStay Bigfooty debate will break out to replace last fortnight's enthralling and passionate Cox v McStay tussle?

(Personally, I'd go Membrey. His career goals per game average is 1.61. McStay's is 0.93.)
McStay has played significant portions of his career in defence which would affect that average, so it’s not particularly relevant.

Maybe, but Membrey’s career average is still higher than McStay’s career high mark (which he reached in a season where he played 5 games). Membrey definitely finds the goals a bit more

GC and Geelong are the only two that really concern me from here because of the unknown.
Gold Coast? The team we lost to by a kick up in Queensland because we kicked 11 straight behinds to start the game, only kicking our first goal halfway through the 3rd quarter?

The number of ways that game could've gone differently and resulted in us winning are unbelievably numerous.
