Its amazing how Hawthorn manage to completely change their game play in the second half and no longer give away free kicks.

Hawks over twice as big a differential as the 2nd best after 10 rounds. Top 3 all Vic teams and 6 of the bottom 8 non-Vic teams
I imagine if we flipped this upside down there would be some sort of inquiry
As a Port fans its strange how this never works out on the occasions that we smash a side. But Collingwood is the outlier as the rest of the bottom half are bottom sides, you’d expect them to be second to the ball and second in fee kicks.
Why would the free kick counts be even? There have now been 37 games featuring Vic v Interstate teams this season.
The free kick count is now 27-10 favouring the Vic team including all 4 games on the weekend.
One thing I have noticed lately is players over the boundary line starting their run up to kick the ball, then changing direction while still over the line and not being called play on. Or starting to walk off their line and then stopping while still over the line.
In last night's game (30/05 hawks vs pies) player picks the ball up and runs from near the centre of the square to the edge of the square while shaking off a tackle, no whistle. Easy to gauge the distance in that instance.
The stand rule is dead. Sometimes players can leave the 5m zone, sometimes not and it's 50. Stand, stand, STAND! Player doesn't stop , oh well play on. The amount of times I see 2 defenders on the mark when the second defender is supposed to be 5m back from the motm. No penalty.
Inconsistency is the biggest problem.
I like it if it’s policed properlyThe stand rule should just die. It sucks.
We cop a fifty at least once a week for it.One thing I have noticed lately is players over the boundary line starting their run up to kick the ball, then changing direction while still over the line and not being called play on. We agree. By 'dead' maybe I should have said broken. We cop a fifty at least once a week for it.
Also acknowledge that we seem to push the envelope further than a lot of our opponents. Definitely can’t say that it isn’t being penalised though. Penalised consistently might be a different matter.

No one said they should be 'even', the question is, why are they so 'uneven'?Why would the free kick counts be even?

Still assumes an uneven count means something is wrong, It does not,.
Could be a lot of factors.
Sure, but since I highlighted it, its gone 9-7-1 (36-17-1) which is much closer to even and with hindsight makes you wonder how or why it ever got anywhere near 27-10.Still assumes an uneven count means something is wrong, It does not,.

The numbers dont lie mate, Vic clubs were getting a massive leg up from the umps and its suddenly slowed.
