To be fair, teamsheets dont mean a huge amount.

Clubs do it because they have to
And that’s fair and correct.

The question was, where did he start and my answers was, on the wing. It wasn’t misleading, it was factual and as a general rule of thumb, our game plan makes it harder for a player on the wing to become a high possession accumulation.

Has Oscar Ryan ever played in the midfield or only ever off HB?

He seems to have badly stagnated the past 12 months and we have so many HB options at the minute.

We should be using the SANFL side to experiment with these type of positional changes.

If we’d drafted Freijah instead for example would we have ever given him an opportunity as a mid or just left him solely as a wing/HB.

We do, thats why Edwarda spent a whole year ar half back and Taylor played forward.

Last year was a disaster for Oscar so im guessing itll take him time. Playing in a side without an AFL listed defender wouldnt be easy

Please. Everyone knows you dont go by the teams listed. Marsh started forward. I was at the game. Mids were Dowling Edwards and Draper.
It's nice to see these guys as our starting mids
Unlike last year.

I still think wing would be Dowling's best spot in AFL, Has lots of good attributes but just doesn't have the size.

Is Marsh the new Cook? Super talented, just need to find the right spot?
Might take some time but could still end up a high quality AFL player.
He's an 18 year old 2 games into his senior SANFL career. Geez folk need to settle. I might add running around with a lot of top up players due to injury isn't helping our young blokes either.

I would not start to panic just yet. Plenty of young players take a bit of time to find their feet at AFL level. St

He had only been in the system approximately 5 months and I’m not that fussed with what he produces yet. Give him another pre season and he will take gigantic steps forward. Same as Archie Ludowyke. Same as Jack Whitlock from PA. Plenty of examples

Whatever they produce this year is a bonus.

I think his best position in the team would be like Tom Lynch. A connector role where he can run up and back, but keep him off the wing in the crows current set up.

One positive out of last night was the game of Indi Cotton, strong overhead and up for the contest, needs a bit of work on his ground balls but the way he's progressed in such a short time augurs well for the future methinks.

Well, that was certainly a game. Adelaide tried to play a fast paced, aggressive ball movement game but did not have the across-squad skill to pull it off without a lot of skill errors. They were the difference in the end as the Eagles were able to capitalise on the mistakes.
Were we playing fast paced aggressive all game? Hopefully translates to the afl game

Agree. He looked good at times ^^^^

My positive is the Eagles won. ;)

Yup, to the point it became suicide football.

Hard to say at this point, as Marsh seems a lot more aggressive then Cook (noting I think it was Marsh who got into a bit of a scrap with one of the WWT players minutes after the game started). I don't think the flaws are the same, noting Cook was a cruiser until recently.

I'd assume it'll take some time, but also, I do think half forward/third tall really isn't the go here and this is a player in need of a role switch.

Absolutely no panic. I was trying to suggest we should hold off on making judgement as he might be a player that takes a little while to settle.
He has talent, but might need some development time.

Draper is a bull in a china shop. Kills me watching guys like Reid and Langford cruising around for other clubs. We lack midfield class and Draper is the anti-class.
Until the second half last week Langford was having a mare of a season.

Sid wasn’t even running until mid January. And wasn’t doing main drills until mid Feb.

Right now he just needs to get minutes under his belt. Have faith.

I think he was more than serviceable last night. Knows how to find the ball and has good disposal. He will make it.
