Thanks for posting your votes mate but do you think Merrett gets the 3 in that game? Most influential player on the ground? Very hard to pick a guy from Hawthorn I agree. Do you think umpires will just be giving the votes off stats this year?

NWM should've gotten the 3 v Melb last year but didn't.

I do think the umps will see certain stats jump out at them like i did though.

The article posted by KENT2008 , mentions umps have access to 16 stats: Kicks , handballs, marks, disposals, tackles, contested marks, goals, behinds, goal assists, score involvements, clearances, intercept marks, intercept possessions, spoils, kick-ins and hitouts.

One stat that wasn't mention was contested possession. Clearances is probably the stat most closely associated with contest possessions. Contested marks, intercept marks & spoils possibly give defenders chance to poll some votes.

Will admit CP and CL stuck out like the proverbial.
That said, Matt Rowell dominated both last year and look what happened.
