Well overdue. Only really behind Gabba for worst match day experience. It’s a complete knock down and redo job (other than the new stand).
Seems strange as there were plenty of empty seats.. some might have been impeded, but i’m sure i saw some second level seats not used all (unless they were in a function perhaps). That’s the biggest crowd they’ve ever had at the SCG.

Disagree. One of the best grounds I’ve been to for football and cricket (only behind the Adelaide Oval). I hope it never loses that character and becomes like a concrete jungle…
AFL website saying 40,673.46,673 for Swans Vs Dees at scg.
Yep its changedAFL website saying 40,673.
That's a record Geelong crowd against North at Kardinia Park32,485 in Geelong yesterday.
It looked pretty full on tv

It's in Cricket Australia and the AFL's best interests to see the SCG undergo major renovations to bring it up to scratch and increase capacity. They should work together to pressure the SCG Trust / NSW Govt into committing to an upgrade of the venue.Cricket Australia need to start putting pressure on the SCG Trust. The Trust don’t give a stuff about the AFL or the Swans but they are much more vulnerable to an attack on their cricket hosting.
By the time the 2032 Olympics roll around the SCG is going to be by far the smallest and most outdated regular international cricket venue in the country.
They should be told they have no chance of hosting the big events (any semi final or final of a tournament as well as the New Year test) until the Py commit to upgrading.
A 1pm start would've got a couple of thousand more. The fact it was on a Sunday night with no early game + all the Fri night doubleheaders just shows the AFL's KPIs are for TV eyeballs not crowds.13,537 for Gold Coast’s match against us. Still the 3rd highest ever attendance for any Gold Coast vs Giants match ever (of 22 total games played).

Sunday night games before a public holiday usually work well. Zero GWS fans there is why is will be GC’s lowest crowd of the year, not the timeslot.Theres a PH in qld tommorow.
It's also worth noting that there are some Suns fans/attendees that live or work in Northern NSW who don't have a public holiday, so it still would have had some affect on the crowds.Theres a PH in qld tommorow.

The two old Heritage stands will never be demolished. The three old stands from the 1980s are the ones that will be knocked down and rebuilt (eventually).Disagree. Wonder what it would take for the Swans to move somewhere new to get a proper sized stadium. The two old Heritage stands will never be demolished. The three old stands from the 1980s are the ones that will be knocked down and rebuilt (eventually).
It would take cricket to agree to move with them. Problem is the scg is such a loved ground by cricketers and cricket fans that it won't happen.Wonder what it would take for the Swans to move somewhere new to get a proper sized stadium.
Melbourne v West Coast, Mothers Day 1:10pm at Marvel says hold my beer.It feels like there hasn’t been a bad crowd in a long time. They’re all about expectations or higher. After the pessimism of the first round crowds have been great.

Week after, Bombers / Dockers shaping poorly at this stage. Bombers, Carlton and Richmond might post some shockers as the year gets on.Melbourne v West Coast, Mothers Day 1:10pm at Marvel says hold my beer.
The back in my day, game's turned to shit etc. is overblown but that's the way it goes usually, it starts strong then crowds drop off as teams fall out of contention and the weather gets worse. It feels like there hasn’t been a bad crowd in a long time.
