Thanks for this. Heaps of many small forwards and no mids in the NGA?

What’s your take on Braun? Where is his projected draft value?
Ketchup is a midfielder, played forward for Perth this season because of the depth of mids they had in the older group. natural born ball hunter, strong high half forward as well. not sure on Braun havent been lucky enough to see him play yet.

With his athleticism can Kehn become a winger/midfielder?

Kenh playing midfield wouldn't be restricted by his athletic ability. At the moment he's not that player and not been shown to be that player.

Nothing wrong with a good small defender with dash who can blanket an opponent.

i think you could put him almost in any position and he could hold his own, his just so good off a half back flank
Yeah

Yeah was just wondering when we'll have a spot for him in the backline. Sure cole and duggan don't have long left and a smaller athletic back would be a point of difference but right now there's hough,Starcevich ginbey, baker, HEdwards, young, with bo Allan and Lindsay waiting in the wings.

cheers, hope Newry comes back down from the Kimberley for colts next year if he is as good as some suggest.
Hope so, seems Harper is further progressed than his brother.
I hope he goes well at STK and finds it hard to break ito their midfield and we see him at WC in a couple of years!!
I live up in Broome and I thought the Kimberley was aligned with Freo NGA.
How does Newry end up with WC?

My youngest son is part of the Freo NGA squad up here, it was my belief that Freo have access to the Kimberley.
I’d love it if WC had access to Kimberley talent.
Yeah Kimberley is Monts so all Freo right? I'm no expert on NGA though. I have no idea if Newry is anything but Claremont and currently having a kick with Southern Districts in the NTFL

Allan probably plays mid.
Ginbey could too potentially.
Baker like McCarthy was already moved out of d50 during the year, id imagine he stays out of there now especially with Starcevich there.

Theres space for Kehn in d50

Everybody always asks "can player x go to the midfield?"

I think Kenh can be a star defender and never need that "mid" test. I guess he could slot in for 5 minutes here or there. But not sure why.

Will be interesting to see if recruiters and the Eagles ask his u18s to throw him in there next year.

Isn’t the NGA just aligned to wafl clubs? Eagles aligned to Perth, Swan Districts, Subi and East Perth.

Claremont I believed is split between Metro and country and one is Eagles and the other Freo?

No idea. But I thought Newry was a Monty. You could be right. I really only know colts and the form guide.

Almost with the exception of the Great Southern going to West Coast.

Fremantle:
Metropolitan zones - West Perth, Claremont, East Fremantle, South Fremantle, Peel

Regional zones - Geraldton & Mid West (East Freo), Gascoyne (South Freo), Peel, Wheatbelt (South Freo, West Perth), Kimberley (Claremont)

West Coast:
Metropolitan Zones - East Perth, Perth, Subiaco, Swan Districts.

Regional Zones - Pilbara (Swans), Bunbury (Swans), South West (East Perth), Great Southern (Claremont), Goldfields (Subi), Wheatbelt (Perth)

A lot changes in the span of a year but I can see us looking at an Arki, Patterson, another in the mould of being able to impact both forward and in the middle. Right now I like Arki though given our lack of quality small forwards

If he could learn to kick he'd be worth a bid and for that I don't see us bidding on him with a top 2 pick.

Can only agree if we had the second pick I rather suspect that we would be bidding on whoever of Cochrane and Walker were still available with that pick.

Jokes aside I think Robinson sits in the 8-10 range that will most likely bobble out to be in the 10 - 20 range, or even latter come draft time next year.

I think we will win four maybe five games next season and would hope that we have our first pick in the 3 - 5 range.

I am hopeful that we can finish above Essendon, Richmond and maybe North Melbourne and Melbourne also.

I give us a real chance to win at least four of the following:

R 02. North @ Optus
R 08. Ric @ Optus
R 09. Mlb @ MCG
R 12. Ess @ Optus
R 14. North @ Optus
R 21. Ric @ MCG

And I think we might have an upset win at home, somewhere along the line..
We generally win a Derby and the Port Game at Optus in round 13 is also a game where we might have a sneaky chance.

Maybe being too optimistic but I would expect some genuine improvement in 2026.

You seem to have some good knowledge on some WC NGA's and appreciate your intel.
Care to elaborate on who you know of and their attributes, positions?

Will be an interesting year for WC list management with our KPF's and wether K LeCras gets a list spot or we go after J Walter from GC?
Feel we are 1 KPF short going past 2026, Waterman, Shanahan look set and forget and JW if he can progress will be a competent 3rd choice with his ruck craft also.

With A Reid & CDT probably taking ruck/fwd roles and Waterman having 3-4 years good footy left we may need another devloping prospect.

LeCras is probably projecting to a Waterman style KPF who is probably the 2nd banana type CHF.

Shanahan is improving out of sight and is a dynamic exciting player who is more in the mold of JK, reads the ball so well, marks at its greatest height, quick for his size, marks way above his size.
