You seem to have some good knowledge on some WC NGA's and appreciate your intel.
Care to elaborate on who you know of and their attributes, positions?
helps when one of them is my son, so a little bias on one of them. have had pleasure of watch them all grow together in the NGA program at the Eagles. the 2008 born boys are the best NGA group the Eagles have ever had, cant remember a game they lost to the Dockers NGA.
Garrison is easily the best of the NGA group, strong all over the ground. his speed is underrated, the boy can move when needed.
Robbie Farmer solid player with a lot of talent, can make an impact in the forward line. put him deep forward and he will produce something.
Banfield i havent seen much of in the NGA program but when he has played the games i have seen has been solid.
Jamayson Ketchup as i said before is a natural born ball hunter, very clean with first touch. is improvement over the years has been impressive to watch. very strong in the midfield and is strong off a high half forward

How's Shanahan & McGlade?
If we only have spots for say, 2 of them, which one should we target apart from Kenh?

I’d say the next best currently is Harper Banfield. Shanahan has a good ceiling, very athletic, some question marks about when he has ball in hand. Mcglade is similar to Farmer, very skilled and know how to kick goals, sometimes finds it hard to get into the game when it’s not going their way.

Appreciate your insights as someone close to the group.
I wish your son the best and hope he makes it in the AFL and hopefully WC so you don't need to follow that PA unwashed team anymore:)
If I can ask which year group is your son part of, you must be an extremely proud parent?

Great the 2028 group are tracking so well!

2028 group I am aware of are:
Ashley Clayton/SF
Eli Wirrapanda/HB
Elijah Pitt/position?
Elisha Daah/MID
Do you know of any others?

my son is Jamayson Ketchup and yes I am very proud of him. a little bias but I would say Jamayson is the next best player to Kenh.

would love to see him playing for the eagles but will still follow PA

Thank you for posting and your insights. Well done to Jamayson and your family, in getting to where he is.

You're always welcome here. Even if you've got the port taint.

Very excited to see how he goes this year.

Interesting you say he’s a midfielder, hopefully Perth play him there and we see him on the eagles list this time next year.

Well done to your son and family for getting this close to an oppurtunity, hope he continues his progression and finds his way to the :westcoast:.

No change for WA teams

all very sensible and again confirmed clubs will have access to players through their NGA's for 3 years if the go undrafted.
This is a very sensible change and hopefully increases Aboriginal & Multicultral numbers over time.

I am wondering if clubs try to 'hide' their NGA with the new bidding rules. Say Koby Evans could have been told 'we will take you, rest up for preseason' as an example

Kodah Edwards from SA was one of the best on the field in the opening half of the Futures game, playing midfield, tackling hard, breaking into space and show class with the ball at times. He was moved to the forward line in the second half and drafted out of the contest a little but still did enough to be named among the best for his team on the day.

2 midfielders in open pool of the top 10. Not the greatest two years to be crap and in desperate need of midfielders
I wouldn't worry about this too much for now.

In the junior comps, typically the top agers get first dibs on the "main character" roles like inside mid or key forward, and the bottom agers have to adapt and fit in around them. You'll find a lot of bottom age kids who played on the flanks/wings/pockets will get their chance to step up and be the main character next season.

Hopefully a couple of elite midfield talents emerge as I feel we need at least 1 top 5 pick midfielder to balance out our list.
Balanced mid who can compliment our more outside players.

I hope Rodriguez steps up but just getting him in the rookie draft seems to be a solid player with perhaps upside but will be a contributer not a number 1 build the midfield type?

Seems the pool will come from A Butler/K Edwards/A Van Dyke/H Mellody is my watch group for 2026.

LeCras shapes as an interesting option in the 2026 pool with a lot of the attributes coveted by teams in a modern forward. Medium sized at 190cm, super clean hands in marking contests and the running power to leave his matchup in the dust. He played both forward and wing in the Futures game, and while he didn't find a huge amount of the footy, he was still named among the best for his team.

WAFL describes him as 192cm now
