Trav being getable is a massive red flag. Wonder if that's coming from the club or Trav and his manager.

Seems like an obvious disconnect somewhere.
Or its only round 5 and just throwing names out there

Are we all getting excited about getting Ben King?

Because exactly the same language was used to describe Tobie's availability as was used to describe Ben King's.

I believe they will be treated as free agents so we'd still get a compensation pick (as if the draft was not buggered enough already). the herbs and spices will need some updating to account for the ages of the younger guys
What, surely not. The first round of the draft would go for 40 picks. Why can't Tassie just trade one of their dozen first or second rounders? They'll be encouraged to trade them.

An interesting thing I was surprised by is that Silvagni is only 6 months older than Battle.

Battle is a gun but if you had to choose between Silvagni and Tauru or Battle I think you definitely take what we have.

If Silvagni can stay fit he'll end up a champion for us. The guy is a gun.

And Tauru could be anything.

Have to say it's pretty bloody lucky we got Silvagni. The Dogs would love him right now.

When you add both Silvagni as a free agent & Tauru with the pick we got for Battle, we are well ahead. Tauru still has a long way to go to learn the game, but Silvagni 28yo if he can stay fit is the perfect intercept marking foil for Wilkie 30yo.

Even when King returns I think we still need another big key forward ala Hammer. Let Sharman play the 3rd tall and release Owens to play some midfield minutes. We still then have Howard who is only 30yo himself, so if he can lift his output he can hold down the full back position, otherwise we need to go shopping.

For team balance I prefer Caminti forward, and if the Lyon doesnt rate Howard then we desparately need to find a full back who can play on the monsters. Perhaps thats where our interest in Ethan Phillips 26yo 197cms strong intercept marker from the Carlton VFL comes into play. You would think if Howard is moved on he would still be worth something to another club trade wise.

James Barrat is slowly improving, but the one major positive with him he is durable having hardly missed a game since his arrival. I dont think we can under state the importance of that when recruiting players.

What was the Saints incredible backflip on the round ahead? I can’t bear to sit through all the crap to find out.

Trav is a top 10 pick who isn't a first choice player in his second year. Until he breaks into the team there'll be speculation about his future.
This justifies why top 20 picks get 3 year contracts now - either a team ponies up to satisfy us or he's still got time to find his place.

Don’t east your time. Just fast forwarded through it and it’s Higgos love for Adelaide. **** talk about getting sucked in by click bait. The rest of the show was mostly about how great Nick Daicos is.

Sure but how much of it is information from agents trying to drive up the contract of their clients before they re-sign.
With Wilson, I have no doubt at all.
He clearly watched the agents of NAS, Wilkie and Windy closely last year.

Who knows, Battle may have had his heart set on the Hawthorn sell, sometimes there's not a lot you can do it's more about what someone else can offer. Probably a similar scenario to us and TDK. I think Silvagni and Ryan have been excellent pick ups so far, Silvagni a clear upgrade on Howard and Ryan has been a settling presence up forward in a young forward line.

Plus, we did get Tauru for Battle, I'll take that, we got 7 or 8 years of Battle then swapped him out for an 18 year old Tauru. I'll be more concerned if we lose a younger lad this year in Wilson, when your young talent requests a trade I think it usually suggests player managers don't rate where your club is heading and that would be a concern.
Battle was pi##ed off with how Ratts was treated, didn't like Lyon and any kind of out was good enough for him to leave.

I don't think Trav is in that position. He's played 1 quarter of a preseason game before getting benched and wasn't even listed as an emergency before getting injured in the VFL.

Either way, it was very surprising to hear his name floated by someone like Twomey.

I think he's very much in the future plans. Contracted until 2027, plenty of time for him.
