My eyes aren't in sync due to amblyopia, no 3D vision. So I use other cues for depth perception, mostly perspective.

I simply can not watch any video like that without ducking or smacking the imaginary ball away with my arms.

yep, and its an annoying alert sound as well. It's gone off seconds before we feel the shake. Its fairly new as a universal thing in phones here.

Would have been useful back in 2016, we had a 6.4 centered about a km away. I was our first night in a new house, hit around 3 AM, nearly knocked me off the bed it was so violent. It took me a few moment initially to wake up and figure out what was happening, then bang, a huge jolt. Those few seconds would have been handy if the house was older and in danger of collapse.
