How’s everyone’s cash gen? I’m around 23.1 (including remaining salary)
about 23.1 too

Im not happy with it though, a few too many sideways trades early on.
Im just treading water getting rookies 1 week late to be up with the good teams

food for thought: I'm tossing up between JHF and Ginnivan (he's coming up against Pies, check out his record there). I don't know if I'm confident either of them will be top 6 fwd come the end of the year but I think they could be close enough to not set me back.
At 864k, not sure if Ginni has enough upside, but I think you'll get what you pay for, with a good bye for forwards.
JHF at 941k is unders for how he is going at the moment, Rd 12 bye isn't great and his low floor scores last year are a bit of a concern.

I think I would lean towards JHF for the ceiling and role. Port are also picking up some momentum it seems.

Are the new rules really that instructive of Dunkley's score, or is it more that he, like a bunch of other inside midfielders, struggled with the pace of the game in the first few weeks (impacted partially by the new rules, but also just general early season energy) and now that the game is beginning to slow down as winter begins, he is primed to score well again?

Dunkley was killing it in the first half v Adelaide when the game was competitive and he was tackling like mad - he was outscoring Ashcroft handily.

In the second half when the Lions broke away and got into their chip-mark game, he dried up and Neale & Ashcroft soared past him with all their +6's.

I think that's the way the Lions want to play as it's less physically taxing than being super-contested for four quarters. So if the game's on their terms it will suit those open space guys like Ashcroft, Neale, Bailey, Reville etc. rather than a contested beast like Dunkley.

I'd be interested if they had harder match ups coming up (ironically) but with Essendon and Carlton next two I think they'll win handily and won't need his 10+ tackles.

Question fro the group, please tell me no one got sucked into Zurhaar. Just saw the wider scores from the North v GWS game and saw a 50...

Thought it was completely insane that people were considering him (even Selby on his podcast recommended it if you could manage the Round 12 bye - probably the first time I've ever strongly disagreed with him).

Had a ton in a big win v Richmond (against whom Bodhi Uwland went 130) who had multiple in-game injuries including to their main mid Taranto, which meant the game was effectively a training run for North.

Coming in to tough match ups of GWS in Canberra and Geelong in Geelong, where opposition Fantasy scores go to die. North are still running multiple rebounding defenders too, it's not like any of them were out. Crazy stuff.

Trades sorted I think

Jaques + Grlj
to
C.Edwards + NWM

70k in the bank, and just 4 rookies on ground now.

B: Roberts, Sinclair, Daicos, Houston, McKercher, Farrow (J.Serong, C.Edwards)
C: Daicos, Holmes, Butters, NWM, Walsh, C.Serong, Bruhn, Murdock (Anderson, J.Smith, Retschko)
R: Grundy, McAndrew (ZZ)
F: Sheezel, JHF, Flanders, Rachele, M.Reid, B.Cook (Dovaston, Lombard)

Next week can probably cash in Jagga and then put that on top of Cook or Farrow for a player around a million. Depends also on the form of McKercher, C.Serong and Rachele who are all concerns.

Going to risk my season on a 38yo Collingwood legend so I can just get rid of the heartache of Darcy Parish (plus flick of Jaques to Newman)

My back half is in a right mess... It's left me with such a big hole to dig myself out from. That's what I get for trying to save a few bucks and bringing in Nick Stevens last week.

Was he building a swimming pool ?

Cause I have some bad news for you….

yeah that's a really good point. I think for Gini I was trying to be too cheap so I could double upgrade. but now seeing everyone else's cash gen I think I'm locking in JHF + Rets. already got The Chad

852 for my FWD trade in. $23.3m at the moment.

Chad, Toby, MacDonald, Rankine, Sparrow, Daniels, Wilson, Yeo, all in the frame this week.

Leaning Toby with the nice run over the next 3.

I like either Cook up or McKercher up for your side.

Or obviously if you could make an upgrade with Watkins, or Blamires I like them going before Cook or McKerher, but I doubt you would be able to make that upgrade with only 72k.

Cheers! Yeah, a little tight on funds to do much with Watkins or Blamires, but will see what I can do.

Currently considering this, because LDU is such a hard watch - have zero confidence that he'll take that next step and tonne up each week like I had hoped...

Or am I better off chasing value and grabbing someone like Newman, which gives me more cash to upgrade next week?

In the same boat with LDU. He's been servicable but not the kind of guy that chases the ball like some others out there. I'd say grab NWM over Newman - make the most of the trade

Another LDU tolerator here, he's gonna have to stick it out a other week or two.
I need 6 "premo" fwds before LDU becomes a trade candidate. Did almost trade him 3 weeks ago.
Just gotta be disciplined and offload fwd rookies first.

IMO because the forwards are weak I'm waiting to upgrade there. Esp with all the guys I want being R12 bye players. I could either get a guy like Ginnivan for LDU and open up a dpp link, or just jump up to Naicos. Who you aiming for in fwds?

Most likely Warner this week, sort of "completing" fwds, and I'll leave it like this til bye shuffle.
Sheezel - Pickett - Miller
Flanders - Warner - Rankine

How did Phillipou look? Thinking of going sideways from a fattened rookie like Grijl or Marshall to him?

Looked like he was playing witches hats.

Thinking:

Jaques > Cumming
Rachele > Trac

Just want to cut my losses on Rachele before they become too severe, will want Trac anyway. Means I'm overloaded with mid rookies I'll need to start sorting out and defence starts to look light, but if Serong can put up those numbers a bit longer or Budarick is back soon I'd be happy.

Lombard may end up staying on my bench all year because there really isn't anybody who could come in as a better downgrade or side trade.
I'm in the same boat, really don't see any option to trade out Dovaston or Lombard.
Well that makes anything feel meaniful and not a wasted trade.

Feels like I'm about 300k-500k behind the pace atm.
