This year Wilson has been better than Bear.

Definitely has, but Humphrey had him WELL covered last year. Fair bit more midfield talent at Gold Coast, and do wonder if the 'go home factor' is hurting his form.

I think given all the factors his value is being based quite a bit on forecasted return. 21 years old, has shown an exceptional level of talent at times and would likely be moved into a role where there's a logjam at his current club.

King has coached him and seen him day to day, so if anyone is going to be able to make an educated guess on all that it would be him, so I'd back him in.

I'm on the fence with Flanders. Would have judged that after knowing what we gave up to get him. He was just starting to show his form at the Saints IMO, and we got really lucky with Steele but would have been in a world of hurt without him. We're still pretty shallow in the midfield I reckon.

"Two first rounders" (if that's what it ends up being) could be picks 19 and 20 for all we know, so don't reckon it's worth getting upset until we see what the deal is and then what Humphrey provides for us over the next 10+ years, should it happen.

Maybe. But I get the feeling King's direction will be more about winning now and looking to stay up there rather than looking to the future still.

Humphreys also what 21? Not exactly burning the future. Just means a known quantity at AFL level instead of two late first round punts

Yeah 100%. Just interested to see King and how much we go a bit like Geelong and less obseesed with the draft, at least for a few years anyway. Already heard that he's talked about wanting us to contend this year, and we've been (to varying degrees) linked to blokes like Merrett and Neale.

If you pick up someone like Neale for a late pick and only money then I'm fine with that, almost a free swing because clearly may aswell pay someone. I wouldn't be wanting to give away too many good picks for anyone over 28ish though cause still not sure if this year is a bit of a free hit and maybe we struggle more next year

I'm personally more interested in 23-28 year olds as I reckon it's a weak spot in our list, but interested to see King's philosophy. Steele one has been a big win to this point. I'd be a bit nervous going for Neale or Merrett, despite being good types, just does feel a bit old for us.

Fitzgerald bloke looks a good size, we really don't have a lot of midfield depth at vfl and I expect he will get some games in the afl at some point.

I wouldn't be shocked if it was before the bye even.

Mapley - looks pretty agile as far as ruckman go, moves a bit more like a rangey forward.

Cooke - reads the play well as an interceptor but it was really noticeable how quickly he would look to move the ball, pull the trigger. Reckon that caught the eye of King and how he wants players to play.

At the very least Casey are getting an injection of talent and experience which will help the development immensely for guys like Taylor, White etc.

Would love for us to go all in on a nimble good ball user who can play mid-forward and hit the goals like M Reid or Harvey Thomas.

Much bigger need than the inconsistent Humphries who struggles in front of goals.

I like Sharp but think he lacks the finesse and ability to inflect heavy damage at the moment on that other wing.

Doesnt seem like a need when we have superstar Bailey Laurie though does it

I was shocked hawks didn't get him I think he was easily best player in the vfl ... I think he could be all australian in 2 Years watched him every game mark my word
