Sounds like a hot mess up there. Possibly a few exiting end of season. Hardwick would be quite divisive I'd imagine. Gold Coast is also a bit of a Mickey Mouse club. are the players attached to it? Nice weather, but Gold Coast itself is a **** area. Maybe too many distractions for the fellas? Who knows. Let's hope they capitulate in the back end of the year!

As has been said, Gold Coast is a graveyard for sporting franchises for precisely to reasons that you listed Crusty Demon . Too many distractions, the theme parks, awesome surf beautiful scenery etc... Do you think players are going to think about football?

Not delving to personally onto Dimma but there did seem to be a bit of a culture dive at Richmond towards the end/post final flag. Seems to feel a little similar at the suns if you decide to read A LOT into it

Time to stop ****ing around and bring Jesse Hogan home.

I don't think 31 year old Hogan with recent injury battles fits into Kings long term plan for the future (in addition with checkers if he plays next season) and I love Hogan

But it would be amusing to see him throw his hands out after being spoiled in a six deep pack with JVR and Petty

All that said we've clearly shown we can't develop key forwards ourselves recently

Taking Hogan out as we only had him for 5 minutes, who was the last truly great KPF we drafted and ended up being a very good player? Neitz? lol

Be shocked if Mihocek comes back to footy. FWIW Hogan is two years younger than Checkers.

Yeah my point on that one while also questioning Hogan's age/injuries, was if hogan did come back you certainly couldn't have them both on the list at the same time.

I also don't know what King wants. With Checkers the discussions where starting back when Goodwin was coaching and it seemed from the management side of things was to follow through with the recruitment with how far along it was. Checkers I suppose at least provides leadership/mentoring to the forward line which seemed to be an angle the club was interested in as well

To me now it's, Does King now want an aged forward, a prime forward or none at all at the moment?

You don't just 'get' a prime forward though unless they're no good.

Our best bet on a guy who is sub 30 is Mitch Lewis, especially if Ben King goes to Hawks.

Of course, there's many factors at play. I just don't even know what direction King wants to go in on his end

Considering we've pretty much played a 3 tall set up minimum all year, if Mihocek is done I'd be surprised if we didn't target a key forward this off-season. We'll probably be a bit hush hush about it out of sensitivity to Checkers but I'd be surprised if these conversations aren't already taking place behind closed doors.

If we're looking at budget options it's Hogan, Lewis, McLean and Deer.

Give me the coleman medalist with a few years left.

My best mate's daughter plays for the Hawks. Supposedly Mitch Lewis just loves the club. Will take a lot of $$ to get him out of there. With his injury history, and the fact he's not in the top line of key forwards, I wouldn't be throwing much effort his way. Would love Ben King but there's plenty ahead of us in the pecking order. Bombers will be a close watch with Caddy. But again, locked in for another couple of years and he'd cost a fortune to secure. I wonder how close we got to Waterman. Would have loved him.

Have heard talk Caddy is pretty unhappy but as he is contracted till end of 2028 no way they trade him.

Walter is the one in that frame who is actually realistic but we don't seem to be linked to him at all.

Probably cause we wanna have some picks in the next 3 years
He's OOC. At a certain point Gold Coast will just have to take what is offered.

As much as we've improved we're still a long way behind most of the comp in terms of being a destination club. Caulfield announcement would help immensely but yeah, someone like Walter who nearly every vic club would want is a pipe dream for us IMO.

That's true, we probably asked the question and his manager told us it aint happening.
