Might be a controversial opinion but I think we need to force McAdam into retirement. I don't see him getting on the park anytime soon or ever. His body isn't allowing him.

That or they may open up two spots but keep one remaining for the national draft.

Yep, could have as many as 3 picks. Gut feel though is with the Culley injury maybe Campbell and/or McAdam reconsider and have a last crack. MSD players usually sign for 18 months, but they can sign for just the rest of the season potentially.

Seems like Butters probably only going to a Dogs, Cats or Hawks type team. We’ve shown a bit this year but I agree with King that his decision probably made already. No doubt we’ll keep the door open.

Weitering is the standout and has a few good years left. Cripps is old. McKay is flakey.

Jagga Smith is probably the only one that is untouchable.

Weitering doesn't seem the right fit for us. Bit slow in terms of both leg speed and playing on. Plus, given his contract he would cost more than we should probably invest in a KPD for where we're at.

Matt Carroll is the only player on their list I'd have any interest in (outside of Jagga and Dean who are no chance to move), and strikes me as a sKing type.

Unfortunately I think he ends up at North.

Grew up as a passionate North supporter as a kid where his great uncle Mick Nolan played back in the day and I believe they are the ones splashing some serious cash at him.

His kicking isn't great but if Essendon don't start playing Elijah Tsatas I reckon he'll shop himself around at the end of the year and could be worth a look for a pick in the thirties. Apparently concerns over his defensive effort but it would have been difficult to be motivated by anything coming in to Essendon in 2023, most of their draft picks from 2015-2022 turned out to be pox. Clearly has huge ball winning capacity and we need someone who can do that. Good size too. At worst he'll help Casey to not get thrashed each weekend.

Of course Essendon will probably want two first rounders from him even though he's only played 19 games in 3.5 years
