Butters and Neale are a pipeline dream for sure. Just don’t know how we are going to sell it to Butters without any firepower up forward.

Bringing in Neale just isn’t enough imo with Elliott out for a long period of time, McStay is average and West has a way to go.

Time will tell I guess.

The primary intention of bringing in Neale is to provide support to Nick and get us off the bottom of the ladder in centre clearances. The availability and capability of Elliott, McStay or West has zero bearing on those outcomes.

What we’ll sell to him is the fact we contend every few years. Who’s to say we don’t land a gun KPF next year and West develops into a star.

Butters and Neale would be a nice pickup. Can’t see it happening but would make our midfield top notch. I think we’re every chance on Neale btw.
We’re still a quality KPF and KPB away though imo.
It depends on how the year plays out, where we finish, what pick we get, what kind of talent is available at our pick. If we end up with a top 10 or top 5 pick, i could see us going to the draft and getting a gun mid and then going after Rowell next year, I have a feeling he wanted to come to us, but we couldn't get the deal done.

Butters would be nice, but i feel we need to go to the draft and bring some talented kid(s) in.

Neale seems like it's a done deal.

Just think how exciting draft night will be with a top 10 pick instead of having to wait until the second night for our picks.

I am quite happy on the first night of the draft to be watching Zac Butters highlight videos.

In terms of a big strong key forward then Darcy Cameron is decent. If we want a leading forward then that's different.

From a forward half perspective so much forward of centre relies on the availability of Hill. Even with the pop gun tall forwards if you add Hill back at his early 2025 level everything changes because of his ability to separate in the forward half. Without him or an equivalent pro scout player I can’t see the sell myself being all that attractive to Butters.

Give me last fortnight of September excitement over this rubbish every day of the week! Draft night is just a dream of future success. I want the real thing.

I’m too busy working myself up into a fervour about Butters & Neale

We won’t even need a backline. We can just trade all of our defenders for a couple of gun forwards. SuperCoach strategy that never failed me until I ran out of trades at round 14

For all the talk about the lack of potency in the forward line, imagine if we had Neale and Butters in the midfield and could play Daicos with a 50/50 forward split.

The more I see the season play out the more I think we could be a chance if Butters is keen.

Bulldogs pick is currently 11 and Geelong is 16 whereas we are currently 6. Our first and next years first might be more appealing than 3 first round picks from Dogs or Cats.
If we finish bottom 5 and trade that pick to them I wonder if they would get an end of first round compo if Walker gets the first bid?

Post after post of Butters speculation.
Do people really believe that he hasn't made up his mind where he is going?

He knows where he will be and unfortunately, it is unlikely to be us.
