Hawks had 3 late (or forecast late) firsts though. If we end up finishing bottom 6, our first will be valued a lot higher.

I'm in the camp that I don't think we should be chasing Butters. But if we're actually a real chance then we need to see it through. One top 10 pick and two future late picks (due to Tassie) is ultimately still a bargain for a top 5 player in the league.

If we actually managed to pull off having Daicos, Neale and Butters in the team, our midfield would go from terrible to having 3 of the top 5 best midfielders in the game lol.

We won't be able to trade 3 first rounders this year unless we get one in. Gotta use 2 every 5 years on a rolling basis, and we didn't use one in 2025

Butters did his club talks during port's bye. He met with multiple clubs.
I imagine we spoke to Ballard last week when Leppa was up on GC

probably the same as Butters. Except next year we'd be trading away first rounders in drafts heavily compromised by Tassie.

This could probably be how we attack our midfield regeneration. Assuming we dont get butters and have all our picks, i can see us getting 3 midfielders from this year draft. The problem we currently have is that, aside from swadling we have no one else in the reserves who is ready to step up. So we desperately need an infusion of fresh talent.

Can't even use beau as a trade bait because he is probably set on going to tassie, and his value would have taken a hit of late.

What would harvey harrisons trade value be?

HH is one of the rare young players on our list that do look like they belong at the level. I wouldn't be rushing to trade him out. Or we end up where we currently are... perennially playing 35+ year old players who are still among our best or perennially complaining we have too many youngsters that are yet to show any promise

Not much because they’re clearing his salary to make room for King, Walter and Rowell. The question is rather what are we prepared to pay him and what’s he on?

Bevo talked about that in his presser (when asked about his meeting with Butters) and he doesn't think announcing mid season is where we are as an industry. We may never get there.

Our best player is contracted for another 3.5 years.

If that's how you constantly speak through txt, then please don't. The world's not ending, we have a great club, I'm assuming you have food and water because you're breathing so why are you down in the mouth?
Nick is staying, we have good players and the possibility of getting more. These are great times and yet, you whine about the things that haven't happened and insist on dwelling in the past. Well guess what, we aren't living in the past, we're here in the present and still a half season to go with a possible massive haul of guns. I call that a big positive this time of year.
