I disagree, you either love Port, or you hate Port. It's what they build themselves as, similar to Collingwood. The town isn't anywhere near as strong as Perth to withstand it.
Adelaide is extremely strong financially, but Port isn't. Fremantle is much bigger than Port financially.
It's not really going to move the needle for the Crows, but a 3rd SA side could kill Port.
Reduce playing numbers to 14 or 16 a side. That's a teams worth of players right there.

Carlton fans are willing to do anything to get rid of Lachie Plowman
There’s always a spot for Mr Plow. And Lochie O Brien. And Zac Fisher.
20th team should be a new Victorian team.
Dees then to relocate to Mt Hotham to be closer to their 'fans'.
It's close enough. What a strange issue to make a big deal about.we need a team called Surfers Paradise Sharks.
that way people will learn that the Gold Coast and Surfers Paradise are not the same thing
Like Frankston and Melbourne arent
eh people always say its a party strip, no real people, party townIt's close enough. What a strange issue to make a big deal about.
Yep, Perth Sharks with that jumper which isn't too close to anyone else's. Quickest way to fill up a 60K stadium for a 20th team.
Peter V’landys, is that you by any chanceOne team in Hobart, one in Launceston. Instant rivalry. Problem solved![]()

Cause I work in intellectual property lawThe Eagles never became Perth because of the Perth Football club. What has changed that you think the Perth football club name can now be used?
If team 20 is in Perth… I’d like to see them use ‘Perth’ but the WAFL side has that
Colours and jumper wise… I don’t mind west Perth

Or west Perth sash… but in East Perth colours (blue with black sash)

The sash makes it a bit different from eagles and dockers jumpers… and the colours make it different to other AFL teams
Of course the blended jumper can probably only happen if 2 WAFL teams put in a joint bid for the licence
Otherwise don’t mind West Perth’s colours and jumper if it is strong enough to enter the comp on its own
Anyhow just spitballing… but excited by the prospect of a team 20. And am confident it will be in WA
Cause I work in intellectual property law
I do think several WAFL sides should probably pool their resources and bid for a licence together. If the aim is to keep it as far from Fremantle's support base as possible, the obvious bases are Joondalup or Midland, so you'd figure the consortium would have to include at least one of West Perth or Swan Districts.Subiaco/Claremont/Perth.
WCE are by far the wealthiest club in the league.
Fremantle in the top 6-7.
It's the market that is the one strong enough to dilute.
Try and keep it away from Freo heartland and cut into the WCE supporter base.
Yep, Royals colours, Falcons design, Sharks mascot, Perth name. Checkmate if they go with a 3rd WA.Yep, Perth Sharks with that jumper which isn't too close to anyone else's. Quickest way to fill up a 60K stadium for a 20th team.
So a new club called Perth football club could be started and the existing Perth Football club would have no say in it? Based on your knowledge how can that happen?
Which WAFL teams were the biggest prior to the Eagles?I think a Traditional Big WAFL club can succeed.
