Basically a lock now.

Injury the only way he plays VFL again.

Plays with a maturity and hardness beyond his years. Future leader IMO.

I said the same thing about him last night.

The kid just has that hard edge we've missed for years and stands up for himself and team mates.

Future Captain material imho.

Haven't seen a later round pick like him come in and look so composed and settled in the 1's for a long, long time.

Already trust him with the footy and in high-pressure moments far more than a lot of his teammates at the moment. He won't win the rising star, but he's going to be very stiff if he doesn't run top 3.

I think he’s fine where he is. He’s clearly good at it. He’s basically playing the wing who is more inclined to push back than forward.

But with the surplus of guys who basically “need” to play midfield (merrett, Durham, Hobbs, Tsatas, setterfield, with Caldwell, parish, Shiel also out) I’d just let Roberts keep doing what he’s doing.

Have watched closely to get a feel for his ceiling. My take is that he doesn’t have the speed or size to ever be a “star”, can’t see him making AA or winning a B&F.

That said, I ****ing love him. He’s a tough, mouthy little prick and a proper footballer. Good skills, high IQ and a real competitor. Has an edge to his game and is a great teammate.

Can totally see his as a valued, reliable best 22 player in a Premiership team.

That’s what we should be trying to get with our picks outside the second round. It seems we’re being more pragmatic with our drafting in the last couple of years.

Posted this the night of our Port clash. Archie was into Rioli every time he was near him. Rioli was very pissed off and they were into each other off the ball non stop. Was a good watch haha...but not worthy of getting threats.

The only thing I can see between the two is in the 3rd quarter starting with 5.27 sec to go and finishing with 5.09 sec to go.
There didn't appear to be much in it.
