After last nights game what I reckon will be our best chance of scrapping wins this year.

Hyde Gaspar Newman
Jackson Bowden Hartigan
Tuck Rodan Chaffey
Deledio Simmonds Krakouer
Stafford Richardson Tambling
Knoble Johnson Brown
Campbell Roach Kellaway Moore/Raines

*assuming Schultz and Cogs wont be around for a while :(

Ill give full comments on why I beleive thats our best system. Any comments or if you disagree please speak up.

Id be intersted in knowing. :)

hyde backpocket? i think he showed enough as a rover last night to suggest he should get plenty of time in the guts this season, very polished performance full of running.
I still think brown is better suited in the forward line for us,

my lineup

Newman, Gas, Jackson
Graham, Bowden, Hartigan
Deledio, Rodan, Tuck
Tambling, Richo, Brown
krak, Simmonds, Cambell
Knobel,Johnson,Hyde

Inter: chaffey, Roach, kellaway, Stafford

still very early to do it bc there are still a few players i would like to see given a go...

Hyde is a limited player but one of his finest assets is his ability to run. I'd have him on the wing swapping with on the ball.

Krakouer didn't show anything yesterday to suggest that he deserves to start on the ground.

Wouldn't use Stafford, Knobel and Simmonds all on the ground at once.

Would rather Moore be given a chance to develop before Graham.

Tivendale is probably still in out top 22. Would find a spot on the pine for him.

Chaffey should be on the bench at best.

Campbell, although still within out best 18 IMO is embarassing himself and should give it away. Let a kid have a go.

Kellaway should be omitted from the side when Schulz gets back.

Indeed. I like Hyde in defence. He works hard and has abit of grunt but not in our best couple on-ballers.

I hope he evoles into a Geelong type which is a very solid backman but also roates though the guts over the course of the match.

I still think brown is better suited in the forward line for us,

I thought Brownie was abit wasted up forward. When in the middle it also looked like something could happen.

Id still have him resting on a flank for about 1/2 the game but when the going gets tough or we really need to win hard balls id have Dr Pink doing his stuff in the middle. If we can get a fit Suger, Cogs & Brown on the field we should have a solid year.

hyde doesnt have the physique to play in defence, hes weak as ******** in the one on one, hed get towelled up by any half decent small forward week in week out, not a good call IMO... compare him physically to newman and hartigan and youll understand wot i mean...

Im with wallace on browny, elite forward, very good midfielder, i know where id rather he spend the bulk of his time... in saying that im not suggesting hes not good for us in the guts, but i think wallace has other plans for him

2/3rds up forward, with bursts in the midfield

Fair point mate.

I wouldnt be against bugging Tuck on a back flank or pocket allowing Hyde to roam up the ground. He will have to roate though the midfeild alot this season. I was quiet happy with Chaffey with the tagging role last night however.

so you'd have campbell in your first 18 and not krakouer

anyway i think campbo is shapin up abit of late ( intra and last night ) so maybe hes lookin at being an enforcer type this year.... good on him, stick up fo the pride.

I'd probably sneak Krakouer into my starting 18, just saying based on last night's performance that it wouldn't be warranted.

Both Krakouer and Campbell are (at this stage of their careers) pretty ordinary though imo.
