If St Kilda don't respond with pick 5 tomorrow, we should trade him to hawthorn and move on. Not waiting til the eleventh hour for these muppets. Would probs prefer 15 + 18. St Kilda brought this on themselves playing so hard for a quality player without actually having a reasonable offer up their sleeve as a back up plan at least
Dependent on Jake.

Would 1st rd pick next year be an option in your opinion

Not out of the question. Will be interesting next year - some clubs going early burning first round future picks early could be advantageous for those that haven't on the trade front - could be some big fish available next year with less players.

If our second and Ross don't count as anything I suppose GWS are going to donate pick 8 to Essendon out of the kindness of their hearts?
Oh my god. Go away. Far away. I hear they're selling tickets to Mars. Pretty sure they don't have wifi there yet, which means you will have to stop posting here.

Christ, I'll give Stkilda Jake Carlisle for Seb Ross in a straight swap as long as a contract is drawn up whereby you stop posting here!

The thought of Carlisle going to Hawthorn makes me sick to be honest. With all the things the AFL have tried to do for supposed 'equalisation,' they are failing spectacularly.

Agreed but gill must be sitting back thinking you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it trade...cmon saints just do pick 5!

The AFL letting the Frawley deal pass was the straw for me. Leaving the worst club for the best and they actually let it through. They really don't care about equalisation, it's all talk.

Ideally not but considering saints are being ******s it may have to do if jake doesn't want to be a hawk

As an outsider it appears the obvious solution so both clubs save face

I don't begrudge the Saints for doing everything in their power to hold on to pick 5. If it were us, I would hope the club would do the same thing. The problem is, Essendon, as well as quite a few experts, believe he is worth a top 10 pick. So unless the Saints can manage that, I don't think he will be traded there.

Just because it's not in the title any more it doesn't make it less relevant: If you are not an Essendon supporter, do not come here to:
a) Tell us something we've known for a long time
b) Tell us our opinions are wrong and yours are right
c) Antagonise our posters and yourself

We're getting sick of having to constantly make this reminder.

d) Stop ****ing telling that us Seb Ross and Tom Hickey are worth anything

It sounds liked mixed reports on what Jake has said. Some parts sound like he's said no he only wants Saints whereas others sound like he's shown a willingness to go to Hawks as a second preference. Anyone clarify this?

If Jake says no to Hawks do we lose any leverage we had? Or do we threaten to let him go to psd if he doesn't accept Hawks? (Or saints out up 5)

With a bit of luck he will get to Hawks just as they begin their slide down the ladder. I always though the best fit for him would have been the Bulldogs. Shame.

Adrian has really done a good job in putting us back in a position to get something done. Say what you want about the man, he has come through here.

St Kilda have also announced themselves as amateurs. 4 days, 0 offers. Future players looking to go there, will remember how poorly they have handled this trade.

Very early on in the piece (I think straight after Jake decided that he didn't want to go to Carlton) Bains was asked if 2016 picks were on the table and he said it would have to be exceptional circumstances or something to that effect.

I daresay Essendon would take it if offered but I don't think the saints would back themselves to offer it.
