Don't know about everyone else, but I'm not exactly thrilled that Jake is gone..

He could be an incredible player once he finds consistency..

We also lose a player who contributes goals up forward, something the team doesn't need...

This has been done to death , his ability to play reasonable football is not in question, being a f/wit does him no favours.

Bullet = officially dodged. I was quite upset to be losing him; in light of recent revelations I'm actually quite relieved. Talent sure but this shit on top of the childish outbursts, net gain for us him leaving.

He'll go well sitting on Riewoldt's knee learning from the best.

Did i hear somewhere, that the mighty fine folk at Channel 9 news had the video for a few days before, but only decided to go with the story once the trade had been done?

He didn't really contribute that much up forward. He was too similar to Daniher, wasn't a great kick, didn't know the leading patterns and above all didn't really enjoy playing there.

We have two All Australian KPDs and one almost AA KPD, they can't all fit in the same side so moving him on makes a lot of sense.

When you consider his attitude and drug snorting, it makes even more sense to get rid of him. Just one guy with a poor attitude can bring the entire team down, so why cling to someone who doesn't want to be here?

They contacted Carlisle's manager a day before the trade went through and asked for a comment, so what you say stacks up.

Abc radio was reporting yesterday that the video was being shopped around to media outlets for 3 weeks, it was only the day of the trade that ACA finally picked it up

Its never a good thing to lose quality KPPs.. it's definitely a set back, but you can't dwell on these things.

There's not much we can do IMO. He was a good player who was very poorly managed by Hird and Bomber, on top of all the other bullshit it's hardly surprising he wanted out.

We got a top 5 pick back so made the best of it, and we're well covered in his position with 2 AAs.

Just because someone goes on to excel at another club, doesn't mean the trade can't be a win for us too.

They keep getting better. If it had the song accompanying it, it would be perfect.

First day of Trade Period:
Adrian Dodoro: You know, a club with draft picks is a little like the mule with the spinning wheel. No one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it.
[St Kilda recruiting staff laugh]
Alan Richardson: He heh... mule.
Adrian Dodoro: The name's Dodoro! Adrian Dodoro. And I come before you good people tonight with an idea. Probably the greatest... Aw, it's not for you. It's more of a Hawthorn idea.
[starts to walk out of the room]
Matt Finnis: [at the trade table] Now wait just a minute! We're twice as smart as the people of Hawthorn. You just tell us your idea and we'll vote for it!
Adrian Dodoro: All right. I'll tell you what I'll do! I'll show you my idea.
[runs over to a display covered by a sheet, and he whips it off, revealing a diorama of Frankston Beach with a Jake Carlisle bobblehead taped to it]
Adrian Dodoro: I give you gun player Jake Carlisle!
[recruiting staff gasp]
Adrian Dodoro: I've traded gun players to Port Adelaide, the Western Bulldogs, and Fremantle, and by gum I've put them on the map!
[holds up a map of Australia with those clubs' names drawn on with pen]

Last day of Trade Period:
Airline Pilot: [over PA] Folks, this is your captain speaking. Our nonstop flight to Tahiti will be making a brief layover in Seaford.
Adrian Dodoro: [sitting in first class, sipping a martini] Seaford... where have I heard that name before?
[realizes]
Adrian Dodoro: Oh, no... OH, NO!
Nick Riewoldt: [as the plane lands] There he is! Seat 3-F!
[as soon as the plane touches down, a lynch mob rushes on board]

"AS JAKE Carlisle heads home to mend fences with his new club and new St Kilda teammates, it is starting to emerge that clubs had their queries about the former Bomber in the lead-up to the trade period.

Speaking on Melbourne radio station 774 ABC on Friday, Western Bulldogs president Peter Gordon said his club was interested in Carlisle, but he would only agree to an interview with the club if there was already an offer on the table.

"What we wanted to do was to interview Jake because we had some intelligence around some issues that I won't say go to character, but went to what sort of addition he would make to our football club," he said.

"Now, we were not the only football club that had some concerns. We were interested, but we wanted to talk him. He didn't want to talk to us.

"St Kilda did have sufficient confidence to say we'll deal direct and it is almost Shakespearean what has happened since."

Gordon said there were other images of players in compromised situations being shopped around to media outlets.

"I'm heartened that a lot of media are saying 'no' to it," he said.

"But it's a little bit different when a player is Snapchatting it and offering it to a friend.

"I hope Jake will learn from it and perhaps in the future become a bit of a role model."

The best part about all of this is that Essendon definitely knew about his latest screw up, otherwise we would of held out for pick 5 and Billings instead of rushing the trade and taking unders.
Exactly, and if we did, we did even better.

I've always liked the Dogs as a team, really like their current coach & where they are heading, but some of the presidents they've had, sheesh, just shut the **** up already.

Agreed. I dont get why they feel the need to comment on other clubs and players.

Maybe its just to get the Bulldogs and their sponsors some media exposure?
