Nick Blakey
Nick Blakey is a prodigious talent with a laser-sharp left boot, an outstanding overhead ability and searing pace. The QBE Sydney Swans Academy product booted 21 goals in 19 games in a brilliant debut season en route to winning the club’s 2019 Rising Star award, and while he added a lively element to the forward line last year, he’s likely to play on a wing or in the midfield in 2020. Nick is the son of former Fitzroy and North Melbourne champion John Blakey, who’s had a variety of roles on the Swans’ coaching panel since 2006.

Nick Blakey
DOB: 27 February 2000
DEBUT: 2019
DRAFT: #10, 2018 National Draft
RECRUITED FROM: University Of NSW-Eastern Suburbs (NSW)

Just watching the replay now.

If I had to rank the most entertaining swans to watch:

1) Lizard
2) Papley
3) Heeney

Papley dropped points this year for just losing a bit of speed with age.

Blakey is electric and has an attitude.
Have you had the speed gun on Paps

Blakey might be the most electrifying to watch, but I can't go past the sheer poetry of watching Heeney. And the relentless bass rhythm of Grundy is enjoyable too.

Set to play his 100th consecutive game this week. And I'd say they've been 100 pretty bloody good ones, too.

Pretty amazing when you consider his first 30 odd games was filled with debate over where to play him and many doubts he'd even make it as a top-level player.

Kudos to Horse for backing Blakey in and trying things to get the best out of him.

He's like a competition wide cult hero.
His current partner is Olympian Ella Connolly who has run 100-400m for Australia. Now I don't sanction any of the tactics of the USSR and communist countries but can someone make sure these 2 stay together and have at least 3 genetically gifted children who come back to us via F/S or D/S (Edit F/D)?

Let's hope the kids get her shoulders! Also perhaps F/D? In any case, good luck to them.

Been one of our best all year , yesterday wasn't quite going to plan and his body seem to cop a few knocks as well (hope he is ok) yet he did the dirty defensively minded shit he sometimes doesn't seem to excel at. I thought yesterday the way he stood up was impressive, wish he kicked the goal attempt a bit harder
