Are we a little top heavy?

Secondly, I thought that Daisy made the trip yet he's not in the 25 man squad. Why would they risk flying him over if not named?

Great to see Stanners in. :thumbsu:

I reckon at least one of those emergencies play and I hope it's not Egan.

Lastly, how on Earth are our VFL team going to field a side this week?

Hmmm interesting.. think we are a bit top heavy down back - remembering that Pavlich & Taz are both out...
Didn't know Wakes was injured, but could be a slight smokescreen due to him being old and freshening up for the finals. Hope Stanners finally gets a run.

Are we really top-heavy? Would we think so if Wakes was in and Presti out? I'm not so sure, but I can see your point.

Thank the Lord that Stanley is in, I hope he plays an absolute blinder. Good news also for Presti, it'll give him a chance to press claims for another season. Also, congrats to Jaxson and MacAffer for being in the emergencies, that's a good sign. :thumbsu:

Must say I wasn't exactly sure what i was getting with this "22 Side vs Freo" thread. Perhaps a 22 and under side to play on the weekend, or a thread informing me that we will be fielding the required 22 this week So I was happy to find it contained the team information for this week.

Oh Danny Boy, the pies, the pies are calling.

Wow talk about getting everyone a game. I think Bryan to come out and would we rest Fraser for the finals. Love to see Barham or Mcaffer get a game as lets be honest this is there only chance. Are we 100% sure Thomas got on the plane whats he doing ?visiting friends

I cannot work out why Thomas would fly over if he is not playing, or at least a good chance to play. Why would they risk it? Why isn't he in the 25 named?

Someone please enlighten me!

He's racking up Frequent Flyer points for his end-of-season trip?

Or he was touch-and-go and they wanted to see how he trained this afternoon.

Really great to see the two youngens in the side as in Jaxson and the Caff yes i no Eages is young but you know what i mean.....
Jaxson at SUBI im liking those odds

Seems like all the teams are giving the retiring/delisting players a game in round 22. With that, thanks for the memories Presti...enjoy your last outing in the black & white!

This is the only reason I can think of why we'd play him (Brown would be in for Wakes?)? Surely they can't be considering him for the finals...

Wow, viewing the CFC newsletter in the email...

The 25 selected (including emergencies) comprises of 14 VFL players from this year/last year.

Who said the standalone team was a failure this year, when players can slot straight into the seniors like this! :thumbsu:

He has played himself into fitness and when fully fit he is our best tall defender. What's your problem with him?

How are we top heavy? If you think about it, Brown and Presti are the only ones you could call "Tall Backs" while many of them such as Maxwell, Harry, Goldsack are medium talls. Good to see Presti back and seeing Barham and Macaffer as EMG's are enticing. :)

If you think we are not top heavy, then against a relatively tall-less Freo on a large ground we are light on smalls. Wouldn't be surprised if one of the tall wounded, Anthony, Maxwell, Dawes missed (or Dawes' case probably more exhausted than injured, hopefully). Eaags covering turf in a single bound, or Macaffer releasing Meds more into midfield, or more likely .... Barham giving us both pace and helping to replace Burns' tough-nut tackling as well, could all be helpful to some degree at Subi.

Spot on mate :thumbsu:

A late change is odds on I reckon..

Put Barham in the 22 instead of rhyce

What do you guys think?

I would rather see them both playing, as Rhyce is also likely to be suited to the ground. Good as Barham is and promises to be, Rhyce's form cannot be ignored.
