Watching him live was astonishing. He's just so composed. He only missed one target that I saw tonight, and even then it missed to a neutral contest, it wasn't a turn over.

Like Pendlebury, he seems to have more time than other players. His reading of the ball is quite extraordinary. Did anyone else see him read the ball through a Sam Rowe dropped mark? Honestly (and this is indeed a pot shot at Rowe), Weiters hung off the back and positioned himself perfectly for the expected slip through Rowe's hands and it ended up in his bread basket.

Kid is a freak!!! I feel most confident and comfortable when he has the ball over anyone else in the team. Already. Three games in.

I'm honestly torn between loving him and feeling blessed to have him, yet feeling sorry for him having to play with guys that scarcely care and just plainly aren't good footballers.

The sooner this is his team (along with Cripps and Doc) in terms of leadership, the better. The current crop of senior players won't be leading this team to success.

i just can't get over his poise and his ball use. incredible for any player let alone one in his first season as a KPP.

also shows how bad a lot of our players are as well. good ball use is vital to be an afl player in a good side. we have a lot of players that simply arent good enough

I'll be keen to sign him to a long term deal to get him at good value though. Offer him 7 years at 700k, he's worth that already.

The last JW we needed simultaneously up forward and in defence that I recall was Jarrad Waite during the Dark Days. But Waite was a seasoned player. I'm confident our coaching staff will manage Jacob's workload and development for the long term not for the quick fix.
