It’s now a 2 game sample size. If he repeats on GF against Cripps and Cerra the lid may be off.

Let’s be honest also, these aren’t just your run of the mill breakout games. Wheelo has him #11 in the comp so far after the 2 games and slightly ahead of LDU.

He’s also the youngest player currently in the top 30 of that list

If he’s emerged as another player on LDU’s level, we will be eclipsing our win loss of last year

Great game, he is flying. Side note he has just about the cleanest curling snap I've seen in a couple of decades. Real old school technique but beautifully curls it.

Impressive game by Tom Powell. Got plenty of it and kicked 2 goals as a midfielder. But we need to see this week in week out. :stern look
Just backed up last weeks effort. Possibly slipping under the radar a little with George and LDU in the guts, he'll cop some work soon enough. He'll be right

Seems to get good penetration on the kick too.

Building a solid understanding with LDU which was on full display in that first half.
Yep. He's done at least 2-3 of these 30-35m snaps now, very few players kick them like that with the curl from that distance now - most are full side on from those distances if they snap. He has a beautiful technique and it seems to work more often than not. Big win if he plays the year like this.

I feel like these young guys often need to string together 2-3 high-end games in a row to build confidence and feel like they really belong - it feels like Tom Powell's done that now. The sky is the limit from here provided we continue to give him substantial midfield minutes, which there is no reason not to considering he's shown he's deserving of it.

Looking more like the player we drafted again. Best game he's played at AFL level.
