I know it was mostly injury led, but being held back this long might’ve been the best thing for him. Certainly has hit the ground running, looks close to undrop-able at the moment.

he wasn't the only one to drop a mark tonight ... unfortunately his was in the most precarious position ... but he then recovered really well and laid what i thought was a very fair tackle, knocked the ball away, didn't do much more than that and might even have won the free kick on another night ...
he's looked good in his previous games, he looked seriously good in some of his moments tonight
genuinely exciting to see him in the team, and mccartin, melican, edwards look a really good big back three

Tonight was probably one of his toughest games to get through defence under the pump for the first half showed good composure no real howlers.

He doesn't second guess himself, if he goes for a spoil or mark then he goes full throttle. We're fortunate that all 4 of our tall defenders have great mobility.

He’ll have another big task on a fellow man mountain in Shannon Neale next week. Finally a backman that can really take on the gorilla forwards.

He doesn't play like a player with four games experience. He looks like he's been there forever. Well not forever literally, but you know what I mean.

He found himself up the ground at certain times in this game and looked as comfortable around the midfield scramble as he did behind the ball.

I keep thinking it is Heeney. The blond hair and smooth moving.
He looks as good as Heeney in general play.
I think Heeney with the way he plays and then I think no. It is not Heeney. It is Edwards.
To mix up Heeney and Edwards constantly says a lot about how good Edwards is playing.

I could not be more impressed with him. I find myself just constantly saying "well done" to myself at nearly everything he does.

exactly ... from game one he's looked at home and in no way overawed, and in fact he looks hungry to get involved wherever possible ... and when he spoils it looks like he's trying to punch the ball out of the ground ...
there's a hint of that raw enthusiasm of the mighty lewis roberts-thompson about edwards ... a cult figure is born!

He and Melican I thought both played really solid games. Was glad to see Melican having a better game given his year to date hasn’t been very good at all.

McCartin struggled a little physically I thought but not surprising in his first game back and with the volume of tape on his knee.

The other two needed to step up to help cover Tommy and they did pretty well I thought.

He hit Elliot right in front of me when Elliot marked. Like a truck. Fair but like a truck. No apologies, just ran back. Elliot took the kick for goal but missed by a lot.

His agility for his size is great, he has a unique ish ball drop but seems to be quite a booming kick, competes hard , makes people earn a kick, reads it well and is a big bastard.

Very impressive so far. Makes a couple of blues each game but to be expected. Love the way he competes , and he is one massive unit
