Hey this is fun

Ranking as players on pure ability and being a footy player - JPK, Jack, Hanners, McVeigh

Importance to the team - JPK, McVeigh, Jack, Hanners

Parker is the wildcard. All of the above are on exposed form and reasonable length of play. Parker is potentially 2nd on the top list and 2nd or third on the bottom.

JPK is our only elite mid. Jack Hanners, McVeigh, Parker are all very good to superb on the day. None will be elite.

Elite gets tossed around way too much. JPK does things no other person does ,like Ablett. For that I rate him far ahead of even Pendles. Pendles is better than all those others named but JPK simply does stuff others can't do, have not done and will forever struggle to do...like Ablett.

"None will be elite"? I believe Parker certainly can be, and Hannebery surely can't be ruled out. Both still have a lot of their careers ahead of them.

1. Malceski is flying under the radar at the moment due to the great form of other players but he is quietly tearing teams apart with his delivery. Also I think it was S120 that pointed out the hardness he now has at the contest and I have to agree. On Friday night I saw him smash into contested situations that he probably would have held back from a couple of seasons ago. Very impressed with his season.

2. Despite Tippett again averaging more goals per game than just about any other forward in the comp his importance extends well beyond the score board. Having someone capable of contesting the ball so well in the air and then making desperate 2nd efforts completely changes our forward line. Defenders are so conscious of him that it allows brilliant finishers like McVeigh and Parker to clean up his handy work with ease. Franklin is also benefiting.

3. Having a consistent, injury free run is finally allowing Bird to take his game to the level we've all been waiting for.

Three aweome points

The flow on effect from tippett in is awesome, reid can run around buddys improved form and role is directly an offshoot

I also credit him with a lot of midfielders goals, he is so good at bringing it to ground if he cant mark it

Swans haters bag his salary, but i think he gets a raw deal in terms of rating he is a talented player

Like into an umpire ?

Seriously I agree, he's got much more physical.

As for Bird, he's doing the number 14 proud. Not at his peak yet and improving very year after a bumpy, injury soured start.

You sound like a Malceski Fan.

Moving beyond just mids, where does franklin rate?

Freakish talent. Only Goodes is in that league (and remember Goodes always takes quite a few games to reach his best so be patient). The better Buddy plays the less the media want to talk about him. It must be some agreement with Hawks.

Suddenly occurred to me that we haven't had big contribution from Goodesy. Yet.
Mitchell and Rohan (if leg right) means we can afford to rest players thru the season without losing much.

all class Essendon supporters - booed the umpire as he was stretched off. Whinged non stop about how they where hard done by and now this.....wish the bombers all the best as a club but they have some serious #&^%heads following them.

I sat next to some old bastard one night. Dressed up in Swans kit yet abusing all of our players. Prickle dick ! I managed to spill quite a bit of beer on him as I passed (without making it look too obvious).
