“The players were disgusted and we had a chat, just players, to nut out what was going on and the steps we need to take to go forward,” Jack said.

1,2 & 3 Wouldn't have taken many steps than - stop carrying passengers - e.g. Tippet, Richards & Shaw for a start.
What steps did they decide to take after the GF I wonder?

Sick of the $%#& rhetoric of coaches & players - just want to see the players take the game on, win or lose, not the inept performance from Saturday night or the GF.

I just wish they would stop talking and just not say anything anymore.

Called it 2 days ago...just lol. Keep trotting that line out boys, you never know it might stick one of these days.

Step 1: Drop players that are not performing
Step 2: Get players in that can kick
Step 3: Play Henney, Hewett.

instead it is step 1 drop the junior blokes this includes towers- ok he looks like a spud, but he is held to account way more than any senior bloke
step 2- try same old gameplan
step 3 unswanslike

I have never got the notion of dropping the 22nd player for yet another 22nd player...

How about we make a statement for once, drop a senior player!

2014 is going to hurt for a long time.

Possibly, but only if the head coach has no idea how to evolve. Look at Clarkson- the way Hawthorn played in 2012 is different to the way they play now.

At least Tippett is injured now so we have to drop him. Hopefully Richards is suspended so we have to drop him too.

If only we actually dropped players for poor performances.

How long is Tippett injured for? I am dreading what Nic Nat is going to do to Pyke!

1. Stop being deluded, you're really mistaken if you think we're anywhere near a premiership. We might even drop out of the top 4 on current form and if I am to be perfectly honest - let's say we make top 4 we will go out in straight sets.

2. Longmire lol, what the ****? The whole club really deserves a blame for all of this.

3. Good luck stopping the hawks - the flag is theirs to lose it'll be a miracle if they lose from here.

4. Mini-rebuild? - not much we can do with the trade ban over our heads.

Drop out of top four!?! ... We will struggle to hold on to a spot for the finals.

We will barely drop another game this year in the regular season. If we can't beat West Coast without McGovern, then I'll re-evaluate this. However at this stage we have a decent draw.

just pick the 22 most in form available players

if that means buddy to the NEAFL so be it, it doesnt but the point is pick the side the means we can have the best shot at winning.

We are critical of depth and media jumping on.

But of the people who did not play on the weekend, who is actually tried? maybe they are all spuds but they are either barely tried or not tried at all

Mcglynn, Pyke, Laidler, Rohan and Johnson are all not available or returning so excluding them it leaves

Heeney with 5 games who is best 22 arguably

the rest Drex, Towers, Robinson, Naismith, XR, Alliir, Davis, Foote, Hewett, Hiscox, Marsh, Mclaren, Mellican, Newman, Perris and Rose have combined experience of 34 games which almost half is Drex

Maybe they all suck, but we never rotate players and see what they can do

McGovern is irrevelant we need to score to win and that means the ball has to go to the other end and hopefully into a Swans player hands.

He can't kick, why are we playing yet another player than has average or below kicking skills. It is something that is annoying with our selections. We need more players that can kick not less.

The only way to find out if a player can kick is playing them in the AFL. The NEAFL and training are not good guides as to a players ability to kick. Most players can kick the ball, being under pressure is the key.

McGovern is very relevant. We should at least match them in the midfield. McGovern was the one that was tapering over their backline issues. Buddy will kick a massive bag this week.

Well here is one...50m out...open goalsquare...where did Brandon Jack kick it...well it sure wasn't a goal!

I said it at the time, we had that easier stretch mid season, and what did we do? Nothing. Did not even try one player that might be worth a go. Perfect chance to try Marsh, Hewett, Hiscox, Newman, Davis, etc.

If the Hawks coaching panel ran this team i suspect we would of seen all and more of those types this year and last.

Players like Anderson, litherland, hartung, obrien, woodward, ceglar, langford would never get a chance with our side, we would just run Hodge and co into the ground
