1. Mosquito fleet

We are quick - skinny, small mids who can play are are an asset when protected by bigger bodies who block.
BUT
They need to take the game AND make good decisions.
Nahas, Edwards, Nason are 3 who look good - especially the first 2.

2 Kicking efficiency

Was at mid 70's last night - that is damn good by any standards and the quality of where the kicks were placed added even more credibility to this stat. We know Lids, Cotchin and Newman were good but we can add Dusty, Conca, Batch and Houli to that group as being in the elite class (potentially in the case of the 1st year players).
Its actually good to see a coach say something, go off and do something about it and then see the results on field.
Some snippets of evidence that this re-build might work.

3.Our much maligned players might deliver some turn coats

King, Edwards and Nahas. Keep it up boys, your recent performances prove 2 things. One that it isn't only our top 5 players that deliver wins - it also relies on the next tier and also it is nice to see some posters squirm a little on the forum (some RFC some not)

Last night was a great win but not just for the win.

1. Mosquito fleet
The game is going through a bit of a transition at the moment. Like most years, clubs are trying to copy last years premiership team and this year it is all about going around the boundary. We are one of the few clubs bucking that trend and going for the fast break through the corridor. Under either plan, it is the quick centre clearance and delivery into the forward line which does the real damage. The other thing is the sub and the way games are opening up in the last quarter. These developments probably suit us with our emerging midfield and speedy short people. We do get exposed in the air at times with so many small players though and this will be a problem against the better teams. And on Nason, I reckon he is the one player that has looked completely out of his depth this year.

2. Efficiency
Being able to kick the ball has never been more important and good to see we've added some quality ball users.

3. Maligned players
I'll admit I didn't rate Jake King from his first game. He still isn't getting much of the ball, but he is doing plenty of damage when he does get it.
Edwards I've always been a fan of, though just about jumped off him after the collingwood game. He should have been one of our better players that day the number of times and the places he got the ball, but his kicking was so bad he was one of our worst instead. His quick handballs and side-steps are great, but his kicking is still a bit iffy. It can be very good or very bad. He needs to get a bit more consistency with his boot, but he has been very important in our wins.
Nahas had a very good first year but I didn't think he had much improvement in him, apart from improving his awareness and goal conversion. His second year was terrible, which reinforced my view he probably wasn't up to it. But this year he has so far taken another step forward in the midfield which I didn't think he had in him. Lets hope he can keep going with it.

Agreed on Nason, definitely not looking up to it and I would probably expect him to be dropped this week.
