Great news to see we've made it with the big boys and got ourselves 30,000 members. Hope this goes a long way to keeping the team sucessful and financially secure.

..The new total of 30,003 has smashed last year’s record high of 25,578 members. It is a quantum leap from the 5740 members that the Brisbane Bears attracted in their first year at the Gabba in 1993, and the total of 16,108 members in 1998, the year before Leigh Matthews joined the club as senior coach.

More than 6500 of the club’s members are based in Victoria.

Hopefully i can make it 30,004 by the end of the year. Im not signed up currently due to a lack of funds but plan on changing that by seasons end.

i'm a little concerned with the logo on the front though...

being someone who lives near St Kilda, where there is the annual 'Gay Pride' march. Not that theres anything wrong with that.

Visually - it does look great to see so many Maroon caps round in the stands.

Spoke to the bloke from our Templestowe office on Saturday night, at half time. He was manning the membership booth. He told me he'd just signed up our 30,000th member.

Apparently it was a family of four, from Warrnambool. Wonder who they were there to see? Had their photos taken and appropriately, had a big fuss made.

Have a nagging displeasure though, about that $460,000 fine for administrative incompetence. How many memberships is that?

Anyways, well done on passing the magical 30,000 mark. Great to see a lot of support in a state otherwise dominated by Rugby.

Mr Ripper's 2004 cap remains in storage somewhere while the considerably more butch navy version from 2002 graces his bonce on match day.

I too like the caps, but I would prefer something like the Hawks and their loyality scarves. I have been a memebr since 1993 and reckon that the club should do something for the long term members.

Anyway. It has been a great ride for the past 12 seasons. Look forward to being a member for the next however many I am around for.
