This is a strange conclusion on the available evidence. He's played a handful of games at AFL level as a KPF and looked good while also playing really well at twos level in the same position. Also only 22 and from the same draft as LDU, Stepho, etc. Not to mention Big Men Take Time.

He’s a FF at best. We already have one of those.

We’ll go nowhere if he plays CHF.

His field kicking is agricultural at best.

I like CCJ but agree with you that he and Larkey are more old school FFs. Can we play both? One way to find out

In two years time, yes. CCJ and X rotating rucks, Comben and Larkey the two permanent KPFs, with Edwards developing beneath these guys. I reckon that's what our best case plan looks like atm

Larkey is more mobile than you are giving him credit for tho. And he can deliver the ball well and he knows what to look for. He could push up the ground effectively.

But he also has real mobile forward craft. If CCJ sits in the square then Larkey has less pressure and little bit more space to find the ball 30-50 metres from goal as well. Or it goes to CCJ in the square. It would be hard to cover both if they set up well.

Its a structure that could work. Especially with fast effective movement from the backline.

Endurance would be the only question mark, but with two rucks in the squad you can cover him an extra 10% TOG anyway. Was a real joy to watch today, just so uncompromising with how he uses his body. One tough and competitive hombre, with the size, speed, jump, and skills to be elite.

Who do we b ring him in for boys? And also, do we need him in more than Curtis?

Keep in mind - I sponsor Chom so I am all in but I wonder???
Looking at todays team sheet... Stephenson and Greenwood are named in the forward line but predominantly playing further up the ground. Move them up on the team sheet then cull from Ford/Young/Scott/Taylor/Atu. We have an OK crop of multipositional players so we can cover any of them IMO.

The obvious answer for me is Goldstein.

Yep, and it's not even a matter of just dropping Goldy. He's of an age that a rest every 4-5 weeks can be beneficial. If the Swans can rest Josh Kennedy we can manage the workloads of a very mobile ruckman in his latter years.
