LIE Concas DE% is NOT the same as those elite players as he's not under hard tags as elite players and ***** up under less pressure.

LIE Concas pressure rating appears to be as high if not better than a number of those elite players only to imbeciles . He depressurizes his good work with poor disposal under little pressure ,stupid brain fades and poor decision making.

LIE Conca turns the ball over MORE than at least 10 teammates and is a poor decision maker as you compared him to 7 non like players and three guns who are better decision makers and bonafide stars. Shows how naive you are

Conca is a turnover merchant and a poor decision maker. Graham is not.

I will reiterate this is why stats are dangerous when they fall into the hands of people like you who don’t have a visual feel for the game and are unable to decipher between reality and dream team points. Do you guys quoting stats get text based updates of the game or something? If you watch the game you can see the brain fades and poor skills. You can see Martin, Edwards, Cotch etc doing things guys like a Conca (and the vast majority of the football world) can’t do.

But no it’s all about DE% and the like.

Stats aren’t everything. Open the other eye and look at it objectively. Conca has his good qualities and has had some good games this season. But he’s on the fringes and it’s cos he’s also capable of games like on Sunday. That was a finals like game and he went missing. He did one or two good things and was involved in some scoring chains but he had only 11 touches with 4 clangers and a really really dumb 50M penalty.

I’m not even saying he should be dropped. I’m saying I’m not sure he’ll be best 22 for finals, and games like against the Pies are why.

_RT_ TI is entitled to his opinion that Conca is not best 22 and you should know by now that you will NEVER sway him.
TigerImposter I can't see where RT has actually claimed that Conca is as good or as classy as others mentioned, rather that some better players can also butcher the ball.

I agree that Reece, and a few others like Macca, C & B Ellis, Graham, Higgins, Menadue, Lloyd, Markov, Townsend and more, needs to perform when in the side and perform even better to get into the side.
Isn't it a great problem to have.

These are realistic names and I have no argument with this. The Ellis boys, Towno, Lloyd and Higgins have suffered the wrath of the selectors so they’ve been put on notice.
KMac would be on notice just as much as Graham , but I think they would have points in the bank atm. The other two blokes are working their butts off to get in the side and have been dropped before.
This is the beauty of the club since mid last year that they’ve made blokes accountable and desperate to get back in once dropped and rewarded other players.

Just to interject myself here TI. Not trying to diss anyone. But reading what you posted (I just came on to see what this thread was up to) your post seems to read "no matter what the stats say, or other people think, I am right and you are a (insert epithet here) for thinking otherwise". Sometimes you get a little heated. But opinions over players differ, and that's healthy. Can I suggest you cool it a little, and those arguing with you do as well.

Conca is, at the moment, fit. He is playing a role in our first team. But no one could see him as an A grader. Whether he is B, C or D is in the eye of the beholder. Not worth blowing your pooper valve over. I enjoy your opinion, when it is opinion and not FACT!! Relax, have a cuppa and enjoy the ladder - I certainly do.

But mainly to get opinions on the team (+ other AFL teams if absolutely necessary) and our players / staff / strategy etc. And of course drafting (after so many years of it being the year's highlight it's weird to not care much)

It's the posters that know stuff I don't (not hard) or have a different opinion that interest me most. Challenging your assumptions is important. And it deepens my understanding of the club and game. So discussions in threads where people put different opinions is good.

Anyone hear JR and BT discussing goal kicking prior to Collingwood game. Discussing that AFL players average 60% when kicking for goal from a free kick/mark situation.

That’s not very high in reality, means your missing 4 in 10 shots and you have time to compose yourself.

JR said we know this is true and that’s why we don’t worry about the errors too much because they happen. Instead they keep playing to the percentages (hence why he kicks around the corner)

Reality is our game is 360 pressure and fast, mistakes are constantly happening by hand and foot even when players have time. It’s their effort and endeavor that’s important and Conca has that, the coaches see it hence why he is picked.
