We were there, too! What a great day that was. IIRC, when watching the replay later that night, the cameras showed us North supporters standing in a group on the wing, chanting, 'NORTH MELBOURNE! NORTH MELBOURNE!'. Peter McKenna was commentating and he wished us a 'safe trip home'.

I’ve been a huge fan of Powell but I’m sorry but if he can’t put on some weight…. He ain’t going to make it .
I’m sadly starting to concede….

Comparing Cunners first few years to Powell, they have similar smarts, vision, skills, speed. However, Ben had size and strength to leverage to make an impact.

Tommy P needs to develop his body and endurance to make his skills shine and his deficiencies minimised.

First kick of his career and he picks off a kick that 90% on the list wouldn't have tried outside of maybe JHF, Hall and Powell. AND he nails it, leading to a goal.

A laser kick into the corridor, i had to look twice to make sure it was the Goat who kicked it.

He’s on the same level as JHF, LDU and Thomas in terms of raw talent.

I don’t want to overstate it, but how the **** was Archer promoted before him.

He did this numerous times in the preseason scratch matches. It’s not like it was hiding.

I think I previously stated, he’s much more suited to AFL footy playing off a wing than having to be a CHB at VFL level

Was there that day, funnily enough we never played there again from memory. It was the start of the era. Perhaps we will have a game in the not-too-distant future where we can say,"this is the beginning of the next era".

Yes, and having talked to people involved within our development team this very point has been raised over the past couple of years, and even more so this very season as the rebuild’s in full swing.

I called him a modern Koutoufides when I first saw him, stand by it as the best comparison.

He’s the same height as LDU but he’s absolutely huge across his shoulders and is easily the most athletic player at the club.

Going to be our biggest midfielder when he fills out.
