Didn’t they say Reid found his left hammy is shorter than right and hence causes problems?
They did but when he travelled to Dubai he figured out the issue and was given exercises to fix the issue. When he got it re tested a few weeks ago it was of equal length and strength. Think it was in an article with cal

At what point do we start asking serious questions about our strength & conditioning team? Ridley, Langford, Parish & Reid having recurrences of injuries they’ve in the past, or multiple soft tissue problems. That world is far beyond my understanding but it does seem to represent a concerning pattern
Could not agree more. I'm always hesitant to call out the Strength & Conditioning and Murphy in particular because what would I know. But honestly, since he came on board in 2019, has anything improved in this area whatsoever? I'd argue it's gotten even worse, from a surface level anyway.

I’m not sure how people were saying it wouldn’t be a strain. Of course it was going to be a strain…
On another note
How on earth is our medical department not icing him up. Bordering on malpractice to not get some ice on his hammy while he’s on the bench, no wonder we always have an injury epidemic down at the club. Can’t even do basic post injury retreat.

Fun fact, the guy who came up with RICE for treating injuries has since said it's not the optimum treatment method.

While icing can be an important part of treating hamstring injuries, it's not necessarily the best way to treat them on its own. The RICE protocol (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation) is a standard approach for initial treatment, with icing specifically helpful for reducing pain and swelling. However, after the initial inflammatory phase (usually the first 72 hours), heat therapy and other techniques may be more beneficial for promoting healing.

Presume the above is along the lines of what you are talking about.

This guy is the one who came up with RICE:

I believe PEACE and LOVE (yes, I know) are the current best-practice recommendations.

Icing can have a place, especially where there's a short turnaround between events where pain management might be more important than recovery timelines.

The point being that assuming incompetence because they didn't put ice on Reid's hamstring isn't necessarily accurate.

I noticed that Richmond did ont Ice up Lalor straight away either although they did near the end of the game after he had been on the bench for 20-25 minutes.
