His speed was surprising. Much faster then he looked in the VFL

Wicks too. Last year he was a revelation as a disciplined small defender. This year he’s added a greater willingness to dash up the ground. I’m loving it.

Imagine if both Kyle and King realise their natural physical gifts and talent, especially if it means they both play on ball? One can only dream...........
There's a lot of promise in that draft despite only Kyle picked under 20.
Kyle, Cootee, Philippou, King, Chamberlain and Hetherton. All athletic, all highly competitive.

The way he moved from deep in defence to deliver that beautiful soft kick for Heeney to do the rest he covered so much ground so quickly in those long strides. The Richmond player chasing was furiously trying to keep up and was just falling out the other side.
On drafting him we identified.
'Composed with ball in hand and takes the game on with a damaging kick and his run and carry'
That perfectly describes the moment in the game.
And the testing had him ranked number one in the running vertical jump, 8th for the standing vertical jump and 10th for the agility test. Wow i cant wait for the marks to kick in.
Added to that he relishes and executes his tackles.
Add an amazing work ethic and appetite to learn.
I see a Bont similarity :)
And we still have the other athletic gift in Max King.
Why has he got to be someone else ?

Chamberlain has really kicked on as a defensive winger in the VFL, sucks about his injury. Hope he gets another year.

We need more list spots as I like all the youngsters a lot

Agree, spots are critical right now. And that's on both lists - senior and rookie.

I personally think this is the deepest squad we've had in over a decade

Players just sometimes remind you of another player in the way they move, their imposing physicality their silky skills. It doesnt mean id like them to transform or be that player. Harry is just the dream of an imposing mid in the same vein. Its so early but theres no harm in letting the imagination have some fun

Yeah tough to see who will go outside of Adams and at least 1 of Hamling/Rampe
I wouldn't be surprised if Cox tries to move Rowbottom or Melican on. Adams for sure, very possibly any or all of Cunningham, Rampe, Lloyd and Hamling. Outside chance of Amartey or McLean trading themselves out. Dattoli maybe. I suspect Hanily getting a run before him might hurt.

Melican to me is a placeholder waiting for someone better.
I hope Snell steps up.

How did Harry Kyle’s thread get turned into yet another Snell advocacy channel?

Next thing we know, the Dawson thread will be all about Snell. Then the Tippett thread.

It’ll be anarchy!

He got a run on tonight's First Crack. Not during the specific discussion on our game but in the final "bits and pieces" segment (which followed on pretty much straight after the discussion of our game).

For those who love (or hate) describing players in terms of another player, someone (probably King) described Kyle's most salient passage (the run through the middle and the kick to Heeney) as like watching Blakey, but with shoulders.

How much time did we get on there liz

Dunno. Didn't time it. Less than the other games, but, with four teams having a bye this weekend, there were a few minutes to spare to talk about our match. To be fair to them, it was the most predictable and least interesting result of the round, and one that really provides no relevant information about how good we are, or how close Richmond are to being the worst team in the competition. (FWIW, I think Essington have them covered.)
