I'm a convert. Putting together a really good season and is actually getting to the point where I'd care if we lost him at the end of the year. Never thought I'd say that.

I would say his signature is pretty much essential to what we are building towards. He is a future leader we can't let him walk at the end of the year.

Even in the whipping era, he did always have the ability to take a good overhead mark

I was actually thinking the same thing. With Trac leaving we really need an experienced player to fill the void. The thing is he's doing more than providing cover he's actually thriving at the opportunity. He'll never be Trac level good but he's certainly taken his game to the next level. Definitely need to keep him.

Next captain. Again two things can be true, was mostly shit to start his career. Definitely our most important mid who isn't Kozzie now. Taken the Viney role but better over head and at goal as the tone setter.

Just think Disco has the aura on field of a captain. The way he interacts with his teammates screams captain material to me. We've got a few options now though.

It just came to me watching that last quarter how much he actually reminds me of Dane Swan early days

the way he moves and waddles
kicking style is actually eerily similar
Loves a goal and plays well in big games

Ive always said Sparrow was GREAT, particularly between 2022-2025. I even forgave him for the kick to Petty.

You do get a bit more camera time doing that as a defender than a mid but yeah just a guess. **** knows how they are infront of their teammates in private

That's what I was thinking too. He can just tackle like a mad bastard in the front half.

Sparrow is playing angry and hungry. His tackles look like they hurt and he will always give second and third efforts. Good on him, he has taken his chance and run with it.
