i think it's strange that no-one appears to realise that it's up to cloke to make a decision in the first instance. If the club tells him that it will look for other forward combinations in 2017, then travis will have to choose whether he stays for a year or asks the club to be traded. The club can't unilaterally walk into a trading session with other clubs and trade him unless he agrees with it.

This means that the club wont be able to trade him to a club unless he really wants to go there. Melbourne could offer us Hogan and Viney for Cloke but unless Travis wants to go there, there is no trade because he has a contract with us. This probably means that all speculation about what we will get for him is pure fantasy...... but that doesnt mean I cant say that we should trade cloke with pick 23.3 for pick 15.4 and pick 43.332 ( I'm using decimals because I like to be precise)

Cloke will leave if the club says leave and a trade opportunity comes up.

Clokes choice is a no brainer....stay a the club for a year against Collingwoods wishes and retire washed up after a year in the VFL, or get a two or three year contract at another club. Theres zero chance he will knock back a chance to extend his career out of spite.

He's known since April where he stood and we'd be naive to think his management hasn't been working behind the scenes.
There will be some clubs who have been keen all along and others that have just realised he REALLY is on the outer.
I just hope he plays in another premiership before he goes.

Three years ago this would've been laughed at but we don't have a strong bargaining position over Clokey.

Mayne is no superstar but he's durable, is a defensive presence in the fwd 50 and can kick straight.

the really depressing aspect to this whole situation is that if Cloke had left a couple of years back, we would have gotten a cracking deal in exchange - easy to be wise in hindsight, but does make you wonder what might have been.

White has earned another year minimum. He's been ok this year. Gault is gone, regardless. At this point a new draftee is more valuable going forward, even as a depth option.

Have you watched the AFL games Cloke was in this year? In most of them his second efforts were pea hearted. That's well within his control, not Buckley's.

My apologies. I am completely wrong in this situation and have no authority to be claiming such stupid comments. I actually couldn't tell you if Cloke kicks them ootf as I have my hands over my eyes everytime he's lining up.

I was probably just responding to your comments of 180 kicks = 100 goals. That would be OK if it wasn't over 5 years.

Basic maths over-rules emotion charged false criticism. Keep your hands over your eyes though if that makes it easier for you.

I thought i read that White has already signed on for another year with Blair.

Gault apparentlly is in talks with a WAFL team so obviously fully aware of where he stands. He is not a KPFs arseh*le anyway at either level. No loss and should of been culled 2 years ago.

Not true. You can argue that he is a "required player" thus driving up his value. If everyone can see that both parties want apart as soon as possible, you have no bargaining power.

Unless your essendon and then you get overs regardless like the Carlisle Saints trade.

I don't think Clokes kicking for goal has ever been acceptable. If he kicked three goals from five attempts every game I would be happy but he doesn't. He misses more than he kicks and they are momentum killers.

Travis Cloke - not good enough for Bucks, but good enough for Beveridge and his finals-bound outfit that have outclassed us with the speed and quality of their rebuild.

Is it because Bucks is conceding that we won't get near a flag while Cloke is around, while the Dogs know that they will be challenging the next few years?

Aparently the Hawks have also put the feelers out.

I think it will be best for both parties to part ways.
