I wept a little each time I had to settle Hoy's invoices.

I was all booked in to go under the knife with Hoy, then I lost my job and decided it was a perfect time to go walkabout instead. 2 years later I'm living in Chile and my shoulder specialist here is convinced I don't need surgery, thinks it can be rehabbed instead (3 months of rehab). Said something about Australians being way too quick to surgery when it comes to shoulders, worse than in the US.

I'm going to have a crack at the Chilean cricket squad, lets see how it holds up! :)

I have little doubt that's the case as Hoy makes it clear, as I said earlier, that the shoulder's a terribly designed joint which modern surgery techniques can improve upon. He's big on a procedure called Biceps Tenodesis, which changes a cleanup Arthroscope op to the full open op, and he asks permission to do it if the arthroscope shows he could improve the strength of the setup by adding it. Both of mine have had it and I know Taz had both of his done with it also (as Hoy told me...........loose lips and all that). It involves severing the bicep tendon then weaving the strands of tendon together like a hair plait, then reattaching the tendon to the bone with a screw. The follow up screw you cop as a result is at the cashier as you go to settle the bill!
