Fast, strong, good size and elite disposal. Why did he fall to #64? Can’t find the pill?
Inconsistency, mainly due to poor endurance.

I really have high hopes for this kid.

He was a dominant 15-16 year old. Won WA's most valuable player, captained the under 16's and was AA. As mentioned earlier, finished second to Luke Davies-Uniacke for the J.L. Williams Medal (the overall Best & Fairest for the Championships).

I can only assume he fell off the radar because of missing last season due to OP.

Came back this season and played Colts and was leading the WAFL Colts Coaches Award mid season before finishing 3rd.

He has been compared to Ollie Wines and David Swallow.

How can anyone on this board not like this!! His video highlights are very impressive. Give hime time in the NMFC VFL team, and in 2019, will be a gun. Hope he plays late in 2018.

This bloke sounds like walk up shinboner material.

Kyron Hayden first rose to prominence in 2014 after stellar performances in the National U15s Schoolboys Carnival. He won All-Australian selection, the WA State MVP and finished second to Luke Davies-Uniacke for the J.L. Williams Medal (the overall Best & Fairest for the Championships).

The following year, he was named Captain of the WA State 16s highlighting his enormous potential. However, in 2016, the Hale School student suffered the dreaded osteitis pubis, and was ruled out for the year.

He also drove his draft ranking higher at the AFL National Combine when he beat Nic Naitanui and Jared Brennan’s record in the Running Vertical Jump test, with 103 centimetres.

WHY PICK HIM?

He’s already been described as a “raging bull” and it is not hard to see why the comparisons have come about.

Hayden is as tough as they come, often throwing his weight around in the stoppages to win the contested possession, before finding a team-mate in open space.

As well as being a wrecking ball in tight, Hayden is a classy player with elite disposal by hand or by foot. His composure, reading of the play, two-way running and decision-making, makes him a tantalising prospect.

Six-time Subiaco premiership hero Darren Rumble, now a WAFC player welfare officer and development coach, helped guide Hayden through the under-18 national titles as a member of WA’s coaching staff under Peter Sumich.

Rumble saw shades of Kyron’s father, Clive Hayden Jr, who was once a big-bodied Lions reserves player before his career was cut short by injuries.

Rumble also saw glimpses of Brownlow medallist Dustin Martin and WA gun Sam Powell-Pepper in the young prodigy, who captained the State under-16s two years ago and has been interviewed by 10 clubs ahead of the November 24 draft.

“Kyron’s really powerful and quite strong, loves the palm-off and he’s got pretty good hands,” Rumble said. Because he had the year off last year, you could tell that his fitness base wasn’t the best, but it slowly got better.

Once it gets to a higher level, he’s going to be quite damaging.

Looks like a beast with little respect for those that stand in his way

Looks different gravy atheltically in those highlights. Fast, powerful with great burst speed and an ability to just brush his opponents aside. Only real downside from those small clips was that his ball drop looked a little ugly.

Bit of a write up about the lad. Seems like a real goer. Dropped down the draft order because he couldn’t run for eight months with Osteitis Pubis.

Looks built and ready to go!

With his indigenous background and wanting to help youth I really hope he finds a place getting involved @ the Huddle.

Welcome aboard Kyron!
Groin issues you say? We'll fix that right up!

Was saying in the other thread that he looked very powerful and strong through the core and decent skills.

So this guy matched Nic Nait's vertical leap and only is 185cm? Wtf?

Vertical leap is relative to your height.

Not a total reach.

Yeh I know but generally taller players usually have a better track record at these stats. Pretty impressive.

*, he is an animal! With his injury issues I imagine endurance would be an issue but I would not be surprised to see him play at least a handful of games next season. That power and aggression with his agility to match is something else.
