Have some patience you freaks. Shown a heap in his first year.

:P sorry i had to...
I agree. He has shown a fair bit IMO. Keep playing him.

He's way off the tempo of AFL footy. Give him the rest of the year to develop in the VFL.
He is but he’s showing AFL quality traits.

He can learn to adapt to the pace of the game by playing.

You can’t teach taking pack marks at the highest point. Just needs time to build a frame and some confidence in his ability at the highest level.

I’m surprised seeing his progress this early in his career.

He’s the one that’s probably playing a little bit more than expected (and what he’s ready for) with the injuries and suspensions to Lynch, Ryan and Balta

But it should only hold him in good stead. Still I’d say there’s likely to be more VFL time for him next year than he’s experienced this year

Gets dominated in the ruck, which is why we moved him out of it in the second half. Hopefully he gets better at it over time
It's good he is getting games into him though so he understands the level.
if you told me before the season would Sims play this many games at AFL level, everyone would have said hell no lol

I actually didn't expect Sims to play more than a handful of games in his first season. In fact I doubted whether any of our talls would. I had high hopes Lalor and Smilie would but never the talls. Just shows you what I know :confusedv1:

I feel its almost time to rest Sims, bring in Balta and let him act as the 2nd ruck. Sims has been good but he needs time in the 2's to build his size, confidence and forward craft. I also like the idea of him dominating for the VFL to help us win a flag :smilev1:

the experience that this young man is getting hopefully sets him up for a long career. 1st year player, playing most games as the 2nd ruck. yesterday, his first 2 ruck contests he was pushed off the ball and the Collingwood player (can't remember who) pushed him away and grabbed the ball and kicked it forward. I was thinking that this isn't good but I can't remember it happening again after that. so he learned and he competed against guys close on 10 years older than him. the ruck duties he's doing is probably tiring him when playing as a forward, but what a weapon he could be for the tigers going forward. there aren't too many 1st year players doing any ruck work in the whole competition.

Looked like he just broke his wirst/forearm. That'll be it for the year.
That's a dislocated elbow. As someone that has done one, I can say that with some certainty. I nearly threw up watching that live and realising the pain he was likely to be in. Let's hope the ligaments are still in tact. I've broken every main bone in my arm in various adventures but dislocating my elbow was the single most painful physical experience of my life by a long way, but mine included snapped ligaments. Fingers crossed for him it's just a dislocation which will still be a painful and scary experience but one that may not require surgery and a much longer recovery.
Fingers crossed that's its not as bad as it looked.

Looked much lower than the elbow to me

My son broken his arm and dislocated his elbow at the same time. He was only 5 at the time but I still remember the scream to this day.

Took him a while to heal, hopefully Sims comes back with no issues.

So did I. The arm break was the minor part. The dislocation and ligament damage was the main issue. I didn't work for 5 months, needed 3 surgeries and lost feeling in some of my fingers for close to 2 years.

I busted my arm in six places playing footy.
Dislocated an elbow in a separate incident at another time.
Give me the broken arm every single time.

Watched him come from the ground and come out of the rooms with a split. Looked ashen faced and crook. Poor guy. He took a monster grab only a few minutes before that was over the line but it was huge !
