CatmanForever said:Gazza is given a rough trot in the media, but he also brings it on himself to a certain extent. Given his recent history with the death of that poor girl while he was stoned off his head, he can't expect everyone to see him in a positive light. No matter how much he has learned and changed.

I think the 'poor girl' description doesn't fit.
My god, whenever i see her picture in the paper...thehoff said:P.S - I would love to slap Caroline Wilson for her comments about the great man. The silly cow has no idea about football. She has never even played a single game. How can she provide specialised comments?

thehoff said:I think it would be wise for none of us to mention that topic. The thread will end up locked and as Gazza said, the negatives will be concerntrated on when we should be reflecting on the greatest player to ever play the game.
CatmanForever said:I am not trying to start a fight about "that topic" Gazza is a legend and his footballing prowess I will always admire. But he is kinda tarnished by that stuff. That is my point. It is pointless to argue over choice and responsibility etc as it can't change what has happened. It's a tragedy for all involved.
But he will always be the greatest footballer I have ever seen.

Turbocat said:As I said I find it just a little sad and murky. For a start to think that after years being a well paid player that Gary would be so poorly off, financially, that he would have to even consider the sale of such a thing as this. He apparently is need of employment , what a shame that we cant find a way mend our relationship with him by bringing him inside so to speak. As well as well as use the undoubted knowledge he has in what is our core business, football , it would perhaps give one of our weak spot’s a chance to heal.
